Santorum Battles Satan Himself

Rick Santorum is now the CEO of a Christian movie company while in between presidential elections and they’ve got a new movie out that will undoubtedly earn thousands of dollars at the box office. So he’s making the rounds of the Christian TV shows asking people to see the movie because Satan controls the movie industry. And as Right Wing Watch notes, he was complaining about materialism in movies at, of all places, the Trinity Broadcasting Network, home of prosperity gospel preachers getting so rich by fleecing the sheep that they have homes built for their dogs. Irony!

At least now I know where to go to complain about JJ Abrams mangling the Star Trek franchise.

What the feck is “xian movie company”

One that doesn’t have to pay any taxes because it’s incorporated as a church.

Sure, Satan controls the movie industry but, to be fair, he does know what the people want. Crap, mostly. Also, summer blockbusters with everyman superheroes heroically fighting mad supervillians whose motivations and plans don’t make sense when you break down the plot. And heartwarming RomComs about up-tight women who can’t find Mister Right until they realize he’s been standing beside them the entire time.

Look, I’m not saying that Satan isn’t evil, but it’s not his fault that Jesus has trouble competing in the Free Market.

Suit alleges financial fraud at Trinity Broadcasting Network and rape

one grand daughter alleges financial fraud and another grand daughter says they covered up her rape when …

Trinity Broadcasting is one of the more notorious of the fundie xian scams. One granddaughter claims the Crouches have siphoned tens of millions of dollars out of the organization. Another one claims she was raped as a child and no one did anything about it.

    wikipedia:

In a May 2012 interview with The New York Times, Koper (Crouche’s granddaughter) claimed that, “My job as finance director was to find ways to label extravagant personal spending as ministry expenses”. Koper alleged that the network had herself and chauffeurs and sound engineers ordained as ministers in order to avoid paying Social Security taxes on their salaries.

The Crouches are fond of mansions and private jets among other luxury goods. They once spent $100,000 on a mobile dog house. Which IMO is disgusting. With all their money, they could have done a lot better for their dogs.

Oh well, money spent of high living is money not spent trying to destroy the USA. And private jet makers need to eat too. If any fundie xians are reading this, check your bank balance. Send it all to Trinity Broadcasting and you are guaranteed to get rich and go to heaven..

I didn’t know that Satan was a promoter of religious belief and faith.

If there’s a group that’s got a credible criticism of the movie industry, it’s those of us who think belief in the super-natural and reliance on faith are both emotionally stunted attributes worthy only of ridicule.

In Frothy Mixture’s opinion, New age bullshit and generic spirituality don’t count as “religion.”

Seriously? That’s been in the guy’s job description ever since God awarded him the Hell contract.

If I recall correctly, the Muse in the movie “Dogma” claimed the box office success of “Home Alone” was directly attributable to Satan. That one might actually be believable.
