Wingnuts Declare Blasio a Communist Muslim Terrorist

With the polls showing Democrat Bill de Blasio a virtual shoo-in to be the next mayor of New York City, the wingnuts are pulling out all the stops to prevent the inevitable. A virtual who’s who of ridiculous right wing conspiracy theorists, led by Cliff Kincaid and Pam Geller, are holding a press conference to tell tall tales of Blasio’s Muslim Marxist beliefs. Here’s the image from their not-so-subtle flier for the press conference:

blasioad

Get it? There are Muslims who support him. And he once hugged a Muslim woman (clearly not a reactionary, fundamentalist type or they would not be touching). And the twin towers! What, no fetus? Amateurs!

Kincaid has a column about the press conference and plays the usual game of Wingnut Madlibs, throwing out scary-sounded phrases like “international communism, terrorism, and global Islam.” Just in time for Halloween! Maybe they could invite Gordon Klingenschmitt to discern which specific demonic spirits are possessing Blasio at that moment.

The missing fourth image is in fact Klingenschmitt dressed as Satan and holding a trick or treat sign.

From the comments on the flier.

    David Howard said…
If people in New York City wanted to be free they could move to Idaho or Texas or Alaska. NYC has got to be one of the worst places to live I could ever imagine.

You might want to work on that imagination, then again maybe not.

Keep that thought! The Greatest City in the World (only a little hype) will be much better off without the likes of you.

His wife is a “former lesbian”? Evidently this guy doesn’t get bisexuality…

First, his last name is de Blasio. He is seemingly as progressive as the wingnuts fear. Worse, he has a black wife and kids. His son and daughter separately star in the only political ads that anyone here talks about. The polls have him up by 40% or so.

His principal opponent, Joe Lhota, is a mean spirited nonentity, a former appointed minor functionary in the Giuliani and Bloomberg administrations, using his support of the “stop and frisk” campaign and promises of increased police hiring as his main issues. He rarely mentions his stint as the appointed head of the despised MTA (which runs the buses, subways and bridges in and around the city and gets its own cut of the sales tax while jacking up fares and tools). He does freak out the rethugs by being pro-choice and pro same-sex marriage. And I am impressed with the son of an NYPD officer getting an MBA from Harvard. Not nearly enough, however, to vote for him.

Oh, and blf @5. Yeah, that’s why the average rent of a two bedroom apartment in Brooklyn has shot to over $3000 per month. Because no one wants to live there. Ha!

The rent is too damn high!

@7″And I am impressed with the son of an NYPD officer getting an MBA from Harvard.”

Why? It’s not likely, or some sort of burden to overcome to get “an MBA from Harvard” if your mother/father is an NYPD officer?

    @Nihilismus (#8):

Jimmy McMillan is still running. He didn’t collect enough signatures to get on the ballot this year, so he endorsed Anthony Weiner.

I thought the New York mayoral race was already over, no?

Guess that’s what I get for getting my US and esp. NY news mainly from David Letterman and repeatso f that on Aussie TV.

. he once hugged a Muslim woman (clearly not a reactionary, fundamentalist type or they would not be touching).

    Well good for him.

Why wouldn’t you if she’s willing?

New York has always been solidly Democratic party territory right?

    So many people don’t.

Dunno why so many find it so hard an idea to grasp really.

In terms of popular/presidential vote, yes, but due to gerrymandering and other oddities we had a Repub controlled state legislature for a while (which was found to be rather corrupt when the Dems won) and Repub mayors of NYC. Being a Republican in NY is also easy because you (and your consituents) get to reap the benefits of progressive social policies while simultaneously railing against said policies for political points. It often has a subtler “keep the government hands off my medicare” ring to it.

A candidate who is secretly a Musilucommie agent? What amateurs! We actually have an openly Muslim mayor in Canada, Naheed Nenshi. And he’s mayor of Calgary, Alberta. Nenshi just got reelected to his second term. As you can imagine the fact he’s Canadian born, and a graduate of Harvard, didn’t dissuade the “Mooslims are gonna Sharia us to death!!” crowd from making all sorts of stupid comments.

@8 and 10. Jimmy McMillan is running, has his 4×10″ summary in the hard copy of the NYC voter’s guide and on the website. His party is also running a candidate for Public Advocate, for which the Republicans do not. Jimmy has shown up several times on local TV. Weiner is no longer running.

@12. I am impressed with any child of the poor, working or middle class completing an Ivy League or other major college degree, overcoming the financial hurdles.

The @12 should have been @9.
