Rafael Cruz: Media Has ‘Evil Agenda’

Rafael Cruz went on the air with Glenn Beck and spewed some lies and stupid. He claimed that the media is the “ministry of disinformation” with an “evil agenda” and that Obama never uses the phrase “by their creator” from the Declaration of Independence because “socialism, Marxism requires that government become your god.”

That last part is a ridiculous lie. Right Wing Watch put together a compilation of all the times Obama has included the phrase “by their creator” when citing the Declaration:

Given how much of the media leans rightward these days, he may have a point about an “evil agenda.”

What’s going to happen in 2017 when Obama is no-longer president and the world hasn’t end? Are all these right wing nutjobs, going to have a metal breakdown?

because “socialism, Marxism requires that government become your god.”

    No it doesn’t.

There are lots of xian socialists and xian communists for that matter.

How many of the religious nutballs who go on the Glenn Beck show to call the president the great satan would tell you (when Beck couldn’t hear them) that the host is actually a member of a weird cult they’d rather have nothing to do with?

“Right Wing Watch put together a compilation of all the times Obama has included the phrase ‘by their creator’ when citing the Declaration…” (emphasis mine)

Exactly. But Obama never does it at other times. “These shoes sure are comfortable…by their Creator”, “Michelle, have you seen my tie…by their Creator”. This proves that he’s an Athiest. And a Muslin. Or something.

It’s fine. Water under the bridge. They hate Obama more.

Dot Parker on Cal Coolidge comes to mind.

I am no longer surprised when I confront my christian conservative friends with such examples of right-wing dishonesty their first response is either one of levity ‘Oh, you’re taking it way too seriously.’or something along the lines of ‘Liberals do it too’, as if the entire matter of communicating ideas was nothing more than a childish grudge match. I’ve come to appreciate the fact that when they say that I’m too serious for bringing it up in the first place it really means they have no defense against such examples of stupidity and they’re merely evading responsibility. Intellectual honesty is certainly not a trait of the religious.

How many tens of millions of Christians continue to believe the end of the world is just around the corner? In the 1970′s we had Hal Lindsey and Billy Graham, who even produced a movie of the Rapture circa that period. Now it’s John Hagee and Sarah Palin.

Pssst…its making a profit. Pass it on, but don’t let the media know you know.

…because “socialism, Marxism requires that government become your god.”

What do they think would happen if the government DID explicitly and constantly try to follow and implement the will of God as its guiding bedrock foundation and principle? Wouldn’t disagreement with the government now just automatically turn into “disagreement with God?”

I can’t think of a better way for government to become your god than a theocracy.

Among other widespread ideas, I am baffled by the long-held belief by these nutballs that Commies, closeted gays, Illuminati, and Reptilians are all forbidden from saying magical Jesus phrases or are compelled to leave secret messages available to the general public for deciphering?

“I want to thank my wife, my employer, and ymay ellowfay eptilansray…”

“As a patriotic Soviet spy, Boris, you will be expected to refrain from signing any loyalty oaths.”

“In light of our secret Satanic servitude, the design team for our new corporate logo will be sure to include thirteen stars, a naked woman riding a broom, and succinct instructions for the secret handshake.”

The chain of people to hate, blame and fear in lieu of President Obama follows the presidential line of succession. If for some reason, far right fundamentalists took over (sky fairy forbid) as president, vice president, House speaker and Senate president, the “right wing nutjobs” would keep looking down the line through the cabinet until they found some deputy under-secretary somewhere who wasn’t sufficiently conservative or christian and then, based on that one person, declare that the apocalypse is imminent. The fear and loathing doesn’t go away; it’s just the context that changes.
