Bigots Trying to Spread Anti-Gay Laws

The World Congress of Families Bigots is holding its annual conference next year in Moscow, which seems appropriate. And during the planning of the event they’re also traveling to other former Soviet states to encourage them to pass the kind of totalitarian laws Russia has passed.

A planning meeting for World Congress of Families VIII (September 10-12, 2014) will take place in Moscow next week. The meeting at the Crown Plaza Hotel (October 15-16) will include representatives of pro-family groups from Russia, Italy, Spain, Venezuela, Australia, New Zealand, France, Serbia, and the United States.

World Congress of Families Managing Director Larry Jacobs commented: “There is great historic significance and symbolic meaning in holding the Congress in Moscow. It was in Moscow in 1995, on a visit to Russia, that WCF founder Allan Carlson met with Professor Anatoly Antonov and other Russian leaders where they envisioned a World Congress of Families to restore the natural family and unite East and West in the post Cold War era. With the countries of the former Soviet Union emerging from more than 70 years of communist persecution of the church and family, it is even more apparent today that only family and faith can renew a free and stable society in Russia and in the post-modern Western countries.”…

“Each Congress is unique,” Jacobs observed. “Each has its own focus. Each emphasizes concerns of the host country as well as international issues. Each promulgates its own declaration. Besides the 2010 Demographic Summit, World Congress of Families involvement with Russia includes support for its child protection law, overwhelmingly enacted by the Duma in June.”

The theme of World Congress of Families VIII (September 10-12, 2014) will be “Every Child a Gift: Large Families, the Future of Humanity. WCF VIII will convene in the Congress Hall of the Kremlin (where the Communist Party of the USSR used to meet). The second day will be at the Christ the Savior Cathedral, the church that was demolished by the communists.

Every child a gift — unless that child is gay, then they should be silenced, discriminated against, thrown in prison or even put to death. Because “families.” Talk about a non-sequitur.

Jacobs: “A discussion of demographics has figured in every Congress since Prague. I expect that to intensify at Moscow 2014. Russia currently has a well below-replacement birth rate and one of the highest abortion rates in the world. However, unlike most Western nations, it also has a government that’s willing to confront this civilizational crisis with pro-family policies. Prior to the Moscow meeting, Komov and WCF Communications Director Don Feder, along with Srdjan Nogo of the Serbian group Dveri (WCF’s newest Partner) and French pro-marriage activist Fabrice Sorlin, will be in Kiev for meetings with key Ukrainian leaders, including members of parliament.

Isn’t it interesting that now that they’re clearly losing the battle in the West, they’re turning to former Soviet states and client-states as fertile ground for their bigotry?

World Congress of Families? Really? We’re getting into serious Orwell territory here. Who asked these assholes to represent anyone’s family, let alone the entire world’s? And that creepy bureaucratic name is something that would have made the USSR proud, so I guess it’s appropriate that they’re collaborating with the Putiniks.

@1 Probably not, but we could just try to slip a bunch of gay pride flags into their luggage, then drop a tip to the Russian authorities. A nice stay in one of Russia’s fine penal institutions would probably be real educational for them.

Or get Anonymous on board to hack their websites and send out pro-gay material to all Russian politicians whilst they are in the country.

Uh oh. Even without the anti-gay bigotry, I discern a problem here.

(btw my first comment didn’t get through. Freethought Blogs is behaving very, very badly — it keeps giving me Error 522. I’m assuming it’s not just me and that crack teams of techies are getting on the case at this very minute.))

It’s true that they have a low birth rate. But maybe they should be concerned about their high death rate.

    From wikipedia:
Life expectancy for women: 76.1 years.
Life expectancy for men: 62.8 years.

Yea, maybe you should try dealing with that issue.

But the low life expectancy for Russian men is clearly the result of the gay. Don’t ask me how – it just is. In fact, gays are the reason that Russia has been struggling so much since the fall of communism.

…Or at least Putin and his ilk would have us believe.

That’s easy – it’s because the gays make such fabulous vodka that Russian men can’t help but become alcoholics. In fact, vodka production is clearly a gay plot against those poor, poor straight Russian men.

I was under the impression it was due to alcoholism… because of teh gay.

Any chance all the attendees will convert to Russian Orthodox or will they stay in their western heresies?

Well under some gentle KGB persuasion they might.
