Nolte: FRC Isn’t Anti-Gay!

John Nolte, a writer for Breitbart.com, projects a seemingly deliberate cluelessness in this post objecting to the fact that CNN correctly called the Family Research Council an anti-gay group. He says they’re not at all anti-gay, they’re just opposed to same-sex marriage. And it’s anti-Christian to call them anti-gay.

The anti-Christian CNN chose to cover Friday’s Values Voters Summit with a chyron that blasted the three-day gathering of social and religious conservatives activists as “anti-gay.” Unless there is something else going on I’m unaware of, CNN is smearing this organization as anti-gay based only on their opposition to same-sex marriage — a position President Obama held until last year

“Unless there is something else going on I’m unaware of” is spectacularly disingenuous. A 5 second Google search would puncture his professed ignorance. FRC leaders routinely call gay people pedophiles, have supported laws that put gay people in jail or even put them to death in other countries, threw a fit when the Supreme Court overturned such laws here, have explicitly called for recriminalization of homosexuality, and much more. But I don’t buy Nolte’s denials for a minute. There’s something else going on here and he damn well knows it. But lies are what his audience prefers to lies is what he will give them.

This would have been much more entertaining from Nick Nolte.

The FRC isn’t anti-gay in the same way that MADD isn’t anti-drunk driving. It’s only the sole purpose of their existence.

And the Klan isn’t anti-black. Oh yeah, I went there.

How dare you?! FRC is also totally against women have reproductive rights, so there.

And the Klan isn’t anti-black. Oh yeah, I went there.

And so did FRC head Tony Perkins, if you find out his history – he’s got some disturbing connections to white supremacists.

I’m going to file this one under “Stop persecuting my desire to persecute other people I don’t like”.

Oh geeze, this folder is beyond full. In fact the drawer this file came from won’t even close anymore. These guys must be anti-filing.

FTFY; conservative Christians are not persecuted for persecuting gays, they are merely criticized for doing so.

Well I know I’m personally shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, and most likely appalled that a writer for Breitbart.com is deliberately clueless. Next you’ll be telling me that he is an Ultra-Conservative Thug with multiple conspiracy theories involving muslims, communists, secret organizations and a certain black president of the USA. Seriously, you need to stop smearing this poor patriot with all this Anti-Hypocrisy.

I found it anti-climactic that you implied that it’s anti-intellectual for the FRC to say it’s anti-Christian of CNN to call them anti-gay.

    Michael Heath & zero6ix:

I think you’ve both got it nearly correct. What they hear in their heads is:

“Stop persecuting my desire to criticize other people I don’t like”.

    While the reality is:

“Stop criticizing my desire to persecute other people I don’t like”.

    ;)
