Saleem: Muslims ‘Repopulating’ America

Fake “ex-terrorist” Kamal Saleem, one of the many fake “ex-terrorists” making a good living on the right wing rubber chicken circuit, went on the John Ankerberg show recently and delivered an amusing diatribe about how Muslims are “repopulating the nation” to bring America under Sharia law. And they’re well on their way; they’re up to …

Former President George H.W. Bush and his wife Barbara not only attended a same-sex wedding in their famous summer home of Kennebunkport, Maine, they acted as witnesses for the couple and signed the marriage license. The couple owns a general store in that town and have known the Bushes for years.

Newt’s Useless PAC

Mother Jones reports on the American Legacy Political Action Committee, set up by Newt and Callista Gingrich, which is now trying to fundraise based on opposition to Obama’s Syria policy. The problem is that the PAC is taking in large amounts of money and distributing almost none of it.

McCain Slams Anti-Obamacare Populist Claims

The constant refrain from the most extreme Republicans in Congress who are willing to shut down the government in order to defund Obamacare, something they simply don’t have the votes to do, is that they are standing up for the will of the people. John McCain shattered that absurd claim on the floor of the …

Mikey Gets Email

This may be one of my personal favorite pieces of hate mail Mikey Weinstein has ever received, from someone who went to his recent talk at a Unitarian church in Oklahoma. I especially like how the “evil glare” from Mikey’s “shrewd Jew face” so intimidated his wife from asking a question.

Greta’s Looking For Stories

Greta Christina (I often initially type her first name as Great, which seems appropriate) is working on a new book about coming out as an atheist and she’s looking for stories about how to help other people come out. You can tell her your story here.

Glenn Beck’s Dream Administration

On a recent show, Glenn Beck started daydreaming about his perfect presidential administration. Get this: President Ted Cruz, Vice-President Rand Paul, Treasury Secretary Ron Paul and Secretary of State Louis Gohmert. Jesus. I wouldn’t leave the country, I’d leave the planet.

Gray’s Absurdly Dishonest Court-Packing Argument

Former Bush administration official and ambassador C. Boyden Gray makes a staggeringly dishonest argument in the Moonie Times about the three open seats on the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals and attempts by Republicans to strip those seats so Obama can’t nominate judges to fill them.

Corsi, Jones Spin a Tall Tale of Treason

Jerome Corsi, apparently concerned that writing for the Worldnutdaily didn’t put him far enough out on the right wing fringe, decided to go on the Alex Jones show and claim, without a shred of evidence and with several patently ridiculous statements, that Obama and the Saudis were behind the mall attack in Nairobi, Kenya.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the World’s Biggest Douchebag

Douchebag1

On Wednesday, the guy behind the Sleepless in Austin website was revealed and the previous world record for douchebaggery was shattered, possibly forever. He’s a 39-year old guy who is just looking for love because he’s lonely. And after reading his website, you pretty quickly understand why. Here’s what he’s looking for in a girl:

It’s Almost As If Fundamentalism Was Invented to Spread Bigotry

Peter LaBarbera, one of the most extreme and deranged anti-gay bigots in the country, was on Matt Barber’s radio program this week and delivered one of his usual rants, saying “it’s almost as if homosexual sodomy was created to spread disease; that’s how dangerous and unnatural this lifestyle is.” Really? Then why do lesbians have …

US Signs Arms Treaty; Cue the Wingnut Freakout

Secretary of State John Kerry signed his name to the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) on behalf of the United States. The treaty seeks to reign in the global arms trafficking business that ships large amounts of weapons, from tanks to machine guns, to war zones and brutal dictatorships around the world.

Could Cruz’ Posturing Hurt Him in the Primary?

I’ve been saying over the last week or so that Ted Cruz’ ranting and raving over Obamacare was about nothing more than bringing in campaign contributions and positioning himself as the One True Conservative in the 2016 presidential race. Two Buzzfeed reporters say it could actually do the opposite:

Ted Cruz’ Fake Populism

I’ve never had much use for populism, which tends always to be fueled by demagoguery, but there are few things more absurd than unpopular populism. As Ezra Klein points out, Ted Cruz’ absurd claim that he’s doing what he’s doing because he’s standing up for the “will of the people” is about as disconnected from …
