Corsi, Jones Spin a Tall Tale of Treason

Jerome Corsi, apparently concerned that writing for the Worldnutdaily didn’t put him far enough out on the right wing fringe, decided to go on the Alex Jones show and claim, without a shred of evidence and with several patently ridiculous statements, that Obama and the Saudis were behind the mall attack in Nairobi, Kenya.

Birther conspiracy theorist and Tom DeLay co-author Jerome Corsi appeared on InfoWars with Alex Jones to explain his theory that President Obama and Raila Odinga, the former prime minister of Kenya, “made this pact with the radical Islamists in Kenya that was going to allow Al Qaeda to come through the door through Somalia into Kenya,” and are therefore to blame for the Nairobi mall attack by the Al Qaeda-linked group al-Shabab.

He said Obama and Odinga “engineered” an “open door to Somali terrorists to pour into” Kenya. “This is the Saudis backing Al Qaeda, joined by Obama backing Al Qaeda,” Corsi maintained.

“This is basically Obama behind jihadis, connected to this attack,” Jones contended. “So they are using Al Qaeda worldwide as the proxy war to take over all these countries in North Africa and now into Kenya.”

“They are going to turn everything over to radical Muslims,” he continued. “So Obama is lowering the drawbridge from Egypt to Syria to Kenya to Libya to Central Asia to everywhere to bring in Al Qaeda, this is high treason.”

Uh, yeah. Except Al Qaeda has wanted for years to overthrow the Saudi royal family. And Kenyan Prime Minister Odinga is not a Muslim, he’s a born again Christian. And he’s been waging a major war against al-Shabab and asking the west to help them. Those pesky facts just keep getting in the way of these deranged conspiracy theories.

And seriously, has Obama not been bombing the shit out of Al Qaeda targets enough for Corsi? Being a wingnut means never, ever changing your narrative, no matter what the facts say. He’s ramped up the war on terror on nearly every front, but that doesn’t even make a dent in the right wing’s inane attempts to paint him as a pro-terrorist appeaser.

As insane as this is, it’s no more insane then the claims of some of his left wing equivalents that this was a false flag operation executed by the Mossad.

Corsi almost makes Don Williams look sane and sober.

… Obama is lowering the drawbridge from Egypt to Syria to Kenya to Libya to Central Asia to everywhere…

There’s a DRAWBRIDGE from from Egypt to Syria to Kenya to Libya to Central Asia? And “everywhere?” WTF does that even mean? That’s a pretty zigzaggy drawbridge — what kind of mechanism would you need to raise and lower it?

Maybe he’s trying to say that Sarah Palin would have stopped the terrorists by putting them on a drawbridge to nowhere?

There do indeed seem to be some nutters claiming that. As just one example, UPDATED: Absolute Proof the Nairobi Mall Massacre is a Zionist Hoax:

One hard proof that this is a Mossad plot is in the nature of the blame laid against Islaam, the extreme inanity of the claims—that is the claims of absolute ruthlessness. This is the statement about, “Do this or else: we’ll shoot you.” It is in regard to the claim that these never-to-be-seen, nonexistent Muslim terrorists demanded of people to either say the name of the Prophet’s mother and survive, and if not, be shot dead. This is typical of the Mossad, not any ‘Muslim’ group. Regardless, in such a state of shock many Muslims would likely have a mind block and may not know the answer. Even so, this didn’t happen: it was invented by Israeli spies.

As for “left wing”, it would not surprise me if that translates to “not automatically and unconditionally approving of everything the Israeli government / state does, especially if it involves being nasty to Palestinians, Arabs, or Muslims.”

blf: Who the fuck are these NODIS people? So far I see no names or other information indicating who writes this stuff.

Who the fuck are these NODIS people?

The Chicago Tribune seems to have tracked them down:

Kaasem Khaleel has written books and hosted radio shows that blame the U.S. or Israeli governments for many modern-day tragedies, from the 9/11 terrorist acts to the recent Boston Marathon bombings.

The website … nodisinfo.com, is registered to Khaleel, who sometimes goes by “Dr. K” or uses other spellings of the first name.

Hate group experts say they monitor nodisinfo.com and hundreds of other websites like it. …

“It’s people who generally want to demonize someone for a tragic event and often it will be Israel and the Jews,” said Marilyn Mayo, a director for the Anti-Defamation League’s center on extremism. “This (website) is particularly disturbing because it uses pictures of children killed in the Sandy Hook tragedy to promote anti-Semitic conspiracy theories.”

I didn’t bother to check the Southern Poverty Law Center, but since this seems to be a hate site, they quite possibly have further details.

    Whois nodisinfo.com confirms:

    Administrative Contact, Technical Contact:
    Khaleel, Kaasem …
    Knowledge House Publishers

I didn’t quote it, but the Chicago Tribune article says several other involved nutters were also tracked down (but gave no names) by an incensed person. By doing so, she herself is now a nutter-target.

Wingnut cauation: Obama is bad, Al Qaeda/al-Shabab are bad, ergo Obama causes Al Qaeda/al-Shabab … no evidence needed.

It’s amazing these people can navigate to their bathrooms.

Yes. But mind you, Obama *is* remarkably sympathetic to and soft on Islam like a lot of the commenters here.

If Obama were harder on Islam and less willing to accomodate it then it would certainly help convince more people.

Re blf @ #6 The Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank are a hell of a lot better off then the Palestinians in Syria.

Exactly – very good point indeed.

Plus the Palestinians in the Occupied territories would be far better off still and have had a state of their own long ago if they hadn’t turned down generous peace offer after even more generous peace offer because what they really want very clearly isn’t a state of their own but instead the genocide against another six million Jewish human beings.

Famously the “Palestinians” who are mostly actually immigrants to the region from Syria and Eygpt (fun fact – former dictator and terorist PLO group head Yasser Arafat was actually born in Cairo) have never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity for peace.

    @ StevoR and Colnago80

The Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank are a hell of a lot better off than the Palestinians in Syria.

Sadly enough, that is almost true now. Before the Syrian Civil war, Syria gave full citizen rights to Palestinian refugees. Now they are forced to flee the country alongside native Syrians. I don’t quite see what that has to do with the “occupied territories”. Everything is better than life in a civil war.

Palestinians in the Occupied territories would be far better off still and have had a state of their own long ago if they hadn’t turned down generous peace offer after even more generous peace offer

And I thought there already was a state of Palestine, diplomatically recognized by 132 UN member states… As for Israeli governments proposing Palestine Statehood – none until 2001 (Sharon and Olmert cabinets), and the concept was immediately revoked when Netanyahu returned to power in 2009. After pressure from Obama, he made a half-hearted statement in that direction, but refers to unsurmountable concerns over borders, security, water rights, the status of Jerusalem, freedom of access to religious sites, and the future of Israeli settlement expansion. If you want to call that an “even more generous peace offer”, well, be my guest.

the “Palestinians” who are mostly actually immigrants to the region from Syria and Egypt

well, so are, according to the book of Exodus, the Jews…

(fun fact – former dictator and terrorist PLO group head Yassir Arafat was actually born in Cairo)

Birther anyone? Rest assured, his parents were from Jerusalem. But of course, he died in France…

While colnago80 is correct in his assertion about some leftwingers being as unhinged as ReiKKKwingers, those leftwingers have little to no actual power to influence decisions nor do they manage to stoke up anything like the kind of support in their listeners that FuckTheNew’sCorpse and all their mini-me’s do.
