Wingnut: Civil Unions are ‘Mind Control’

Gordon Klingenschmitt seems to have found a kindred spirit in Colorado state Sen. Kent Lambert, who says that state’s law allowing civil unions for gay and lesbian couples is an attempt at “mind control.” Oh, and he thinks Big Brother was in Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World rather than Orwell’s 1984.

Oh, and he thinks Big Brother was in Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World rather than Orwell’s 1984.

Obviously he hasn’t read either book.

Well, it is mind control. It’s part of a propaganda effort to impose “separate but equal” facilities on a despised minority and to deny legitimacy to the demands that the minority be accepted as completely equal members of society.

Betcha weren’t expecting that, eh, Gordie?

“privacy will no longer be in effect in the United States if this agenda continues in the direction that it is right now. This is certainly Brave New World, the Aldous Huxley novel that Big Brother is here, he’s alive and well and we’re going to force you into the kind of agendas that some of the greatest dictators in world history have tried to press in the past.”

If Coloradans are broad minded enough to elect intellectually challenged people to its state senate, they’ll survive giving gay people and transexual kids almost equal rights.

If civil unions are “mind control,” then what is full marriage?

“[Democrats are] going to force you into the kind of agendas that some of the greatest dictators in world history have tried to press in the past.”

Which dictators forced people into equality and protection for minorities?

#5 Sometimes dictators do protect minority rights. Christians had it much better under Saddam than they do today.

But seriously, not knowing that Big Brother was in 1984?

Chances are good that anybody who makes hyperbolic statements about something being ‘just like’ 1984 or BNW hasn’t read them and should be locked in a cage with hungry rats just like a dirty Epsilon.

Raging Bee (#4) – judging by my married friends, mostly fighting over the remote control.
