Tom DeLay, who recently had his money laundering conviction overturned on a party-line vote of a Texas court of appeals, is planning to write a book with the Worldnetdaily’s Jerome Corsi, a leading birther and right wing conspiracy nut (his latest book cracks the case of the Kennedy assassination, which he blames on the non-existent “New World Order”).
DeLay announced plans to write a book in an interview with Newsmax, following last weeks’ news that a Texas Court of Appeals had overturned his 2010 conviction on money laundering charges.
DeLay’s co-author, he said, will be none other than Jerome Corsi, a conservative columnist and bestselling author who has been one of the most prominent proponents of conspiracy theories alleging President Barack Obama was not born in the United States. In the interview with Newsmax, DeLay, who returned to the House floor for a “victory lap” last week, said he’d “spent a lot of time” with Corsi and shared some details about their planned book project.
“Our book is tentatively entitled ‘Shut Her Down,’” DeLay said. “It’s about the revival of the Constitution and how to return power from all those federal programs to the states, which have sovereignty.”
Here’s what cracks me up about this. A couple years ago the Worldnetdaily started publishing columns by Jack Abramoff about exposing the corruption in Washington. Joseph Farah declared that “Jack Abramoff knows where all the bodies are buried in Washington.” One of those bodies was DeLay, his partner in crime for years. Now Farah’s star “reporter” is doing a book with him.
It reminds me of the time that Farah claimed that he had sworn in the mid 90s that he would never have anything to do with the Rev. Moon “even in some small way” because Moon claimed to be the messiah rather than Jesus. That was before he started making money by selling Moon’s publications (particularly Insight and the Washington Times Weekly) and accepted an award from the Washington Times Foundation. Farah only cares if he can make money from it.
