Farah’s Day of Prayer Now Annual Event

Joseph Farah’s 9/11 Day of Prayer and Repentance, which they claim was a roaring success, will now be an annual event. They claim 250,000 people participated, though they offer no evidence for that claim. But if it’s true, what exactly did it accomplish? I mean, within days there was a mass shooting in Washington, exactly the sort of thing they claim shows that God is displeased with us. So apparently it didn’t accomplish much of anything.

After the success of this year’s 9/11 National Day of Prayer and Repentance, WND CEO Joseph Farah is pledging to continue the work next year.

“By any standard, the National Day of Prayer and Repentance September 11 was an unprecedented success,” said Farah, who conceived the idea along with messianic rabbi Jonathan Cahn, the author of the bestselling “The Harbinger.”

“In only a few months, with the help of the Holy Spirit, it appears the effort mobilized hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions of believers, to pray for the healing of our nation by repenting of their own sins. This has so encouraged me that we will immediately begin work on making the Sept. 11, 2014, bigger and better,” Farah said.

More than 1,000 churches and 250,000 individuals participated in the 2013 events and several celebrities, such as Chuck Norris and Charlie Daniels, endorsed the day as a way for America to rejuvenate itself spiritually.

When getting two washed-up former celebrities to endorse you is evidence of an “unprecedented success,” your standards might just be a little low. But by all means, waste your time every year praying and repenting to nothing.

“unprecedented success”? Never before has God been so non-involved! That all changed with this 9/11 when he doubled his non-involvement. Praise Jesus!!

Oh, but you are not thinking like a Talibangelical! If it hadn’t been for this Day of Prayer and Repentance, then God would have been really ticked off and dozens would have died. Farah saved all those innocent people! Praise Jeebus!

“By any standard, the National Day of Prayer and Repentance September 11 was an unprecedented success,”

Translation: “By any standard of logic and evidence used by wingnuts …”

In other words, no such standard at all.

Well, then — there’s your standard. To hell with the victims, to hell with the crime rate, to hell with the nation, to hell with the world. Success is measured by the level of faith in the Believers. It’s really about inner conviction and attitude because when it comes right down to it God focuses like a laser on salvation: the humble mindset of those who pray.

It’s all about them and their relationship with God. Did praying strengthen their faith? Do they feel as if it did? They sure do.

    Success!

I do believe that it should be spelled “$ucce$$”. That’s the only logical conclusion I could come up with. Otherwise, it might as well read “250,000 people do absolutely nothing for an hour.”

250,000 people in churches all over the country “participated?” That’s less than 1/10th of 1 percent of the population. More people watched a crappy football game between two losing teams Sunday than participated in their “unprecedented success.” Heck, you add together a three-four college football stadiums and they could have hosted the event with seats to spare.

How about he cuts the crap and makes it weekly? Like, for instance, Sunday.

When offered three wishes, the first wish is always to be granted an infinite number of wishes. Therefore, when hosting a day of prayer, why would you not, at some point during the day, pray for all of humankind’s problems to be resolved forever so that you do not have to repeat your effort the following year?
