When Keyes and Gohmert Met

There have been many times in history when great men have met and the world was rapt with attention. Malcolm X and Martin Luther King. FDR, Stalin and Churchill. Caesar and Brutus. Ali and Frazier. But all must now take a backseat to the day when Louis Gohmert and Alan Keyes took to the radio together to tell the world that the “elites” want to “depopulate the globe” down to less than 500 million people.

Fischer: Liberals Can’t Be Wise Without God

Here’s a class Bryan Fischer diatribe declaring that liberals “cannot be clued in, you can’t be discerning, you can’t be perceptive, you can’t be wise unless you begin with a holy reverence for God.” Wise like you, Bryan? You’re one of the most virulently ignorant people I’ve ever encountered, a volcano of inanity.

Ken Ham is Not Happy With Me

Last week when lightning struck a zip line attraction at the creation museum, I wrote a post making fun of the fact that we’re always hearing how such incidents are God’s message for something, usually The Gay. So what message was God sending then? Ken Ham scurried over to the Christian Post to express his displeasure and to say absolutely nothing that engaged with my point at all.

Tony Robbins Has Famous Friends

Longtime readers may recall that I hate motivational speakers, hate them with a passion usually reserved for Celine Dion. And the king of these con artists is Tony Robbins, that tall bundle of white teeth and bullshit that has gotten quite rich selling platitudes to the clueless. Wingnut: ‘Lincoln’ Movie Made to Help Obama

Robert Knight of the American Civil Rights Union (for some reason, the religious right thinks it’s incredibly clever to play on the ACLU’s name) has a column in the Moonie Times making an absolutely bizarre claim. He says that Steven Spielberg made the movie Lincoln to help Obama implement health care reform. Speaking of Saul Alinsky (can a wingnut ever write a column without invoking Alinsky?), Knight says:

Does Beck Even Read The Blaze?

For the third time, Right Wing Watch has caught a contradiction between what is said on Glenn Beck’s TV show and what it says on his website. This time it came from David Barton, who guest hosted for Beck and repeated this suddenly popular new meme on the right that the Common Core standards will allow kids to say that 3×4 = 11. A dishonestly edited video is rocketing around the right wing blogosphere on this and Barton is pushing it as hard as he can. But Beck’s own website has already debunked this:

‘Ex-Gay’ Activist Wants Apology From Exodus

I wrote a bit about Alan Chambers, once the most prominent leader of the “ex-gay” movement, shutting down Exodus International, the largest and most influential “ex-gay” group, and apologizing to the gay community for the damage they’d done. Now another “ex-gay” activist is demanding an apology and even writing a proposed apology that he wishes Exodus would offer. It’s pretty funny stuff:
