Anti-Feminist: Elizabeth Cady Stanton Led by Satan

I’ve written several times about Elizabeth Cady Stanton, the 19th century freethinker who was one of the most prominent leaders of the women’s rights movement. Here’s anti-feminist Dorothy Kelley Patterson telling a Concerned Women for America conference that Stanton was under the influence of Satan.

    Could it be……. SATAN?

The extreme irony being that groups like “Concerned Women for America” wouldn’t be allowed to exist except for the hard work of women like Stanton, Anthony, Mott, Paul and so many others.

Their name always cracks me up. Concerned Women for America. They’re so very……concerned.

She’s my kind of loudmouthed disbeliever.

“When women understand that governments and religions are human inventions; that Bibles, prayer-books, catechisms, and encyclical letters are all emanations from the brains of man, they will no longer be oppressed by the injunctions that come to them with the divine authority of *Thus sayeth the Lord.*”

Wow! The title of the speech was “From Rib to Lib via Fib.” That’s a powerful lot of stupid to pack into just six words.

All snark aside, that kitchen has pretty good acoustics.

Seconded … although we have to consider the possibility that it is the laundry room or [shudder] the bedroom.

    John Pieret @ 5,

That title is even worse than “from the goo to you via the zoo.”

Aren’t you touched by their concern? They are SO CONCERNED that someone might get an abortion or teach evolution in schools

I, for one, am against someone getting an abortion in schools.

    Yeah, I saw that:

I’m not quite so sure the case is over though. At least one county clerk (San Diego) was willing to join with the Prop 8 proponents. One or more county clerks could go to the Federal courts in different districts within the state and try to get a ruling that Walker’s decision did not apply in those districts. It would be spinning their wheels but that hasn’t stopped them before.
