A bunch of “ex-gay” activists — that is, gay people trying really, really hard to pretend they’re not gay anymore because of Jesus — held a lobby day on Capitol Hill on Wednesday and a press conference on the capitol steps. Let’s just say it was not a smashing success.
The signs they’re holding up demand “equal rights” for “ex-gays.” How, exactly, are their rights being violated? Are they fired from jobs for being “ex-gay”? Denied housing? Prevented from getting married?
And then there’s this: “Hip hip hooray for ex-gays! Hip hip hooray for ex-gays!” And now, I’m not making that up.
