The Bryan Fischer Award is given to those who show a staggering lack of self-awareness, accusing others of having their own worst traits. This one goes to the Obama administration after putting out this statement that will likely leave your jaw agape at the chutzpah.
“We call on the Russian government to cease its campaign of pressure against individuals and groups seeking to expose corruption, and to ensure that the universal human rights and fundamental freedoms of all of its citizens, including the freedoms of speech and assembly, are protected and respected,” said Jay Carney, the White House press secretary.
This is why I could never be a political press secretary. I don’t have the ability to say something that asinine with a straight face. Yes, we should be calling on the Russian government not to persecute those who expose corruption, but given that this administration has gone after whistleblowers who have exposed the government’s crimes with more zeal than any in our history, this is weapons grade projection and hypocrisy.
