Gohmert: Supreme Court Justices Ignorant

Rep. Louis Gohmert, who may well be both the most ignorant and the dumbest man in Congress, told wingnut Janet Porter that if the Supreme Court really thinks DOMA was motivated by a desire to discriminate “they are the most ignorant people walking around in Washington, and that’s saying something.” Given that you live there, it certainly is. In related news, Kim Kardashian says that Paris Hilton is shallow.

I think the bigger question is: why does he look like a vice-principal?

Prove that you aren’t secretly a vice-principal, representative Gohmert! Take off the jacket! Show us the length of your shirtsleeves!

Of course, Louie doesn’t give us a reason for DOMA other than to impose inequality. But the full video does … it’s because God thinks gays are icky and wants only traditional marriage and besides gays can’t have kids and … um … therefore gays can’t be married.

See … no intent to impose inequality!

The more I hear from Gohmert, the more convinced I become the man’s a medical experiment, gone terribly wrong. Someone gave this dude a big load of drugs then stepped back just to see what would happen.

why does he look like a vice-principal?

I had a grand mal seizure in junior high. I woke up looking into the face of the vice-principal. If that vice-principal had been Gohmert, I would have suffered severe brain damage.

I would like to see a comparison between Louie Gohmerts EEG and Terri Schaivo’s.

It was particularly amusing because he said they were either ignorant or lying. I don’t know which he is, but given the court showed the law was motivated out of animus towards gay people and a large part of the dissent was Scalia whining that people think he is a bigot just because he believes in discrimination, Gohmert is either ignorant or lying here.

How soon they forget — The purpose of DOMA was for Bill Clinton to pander to right wing religious types.

Any discrimination that took place because of it was merely collateral damage.

Bill didn’t hate us or anything. It was just business.

Stunning. I’d like to think that the cream rises to the top but stuff like this reminds us that shit floats much more often.

    Re Abdul Alhazred @ #9

In fairness to Clinton, although political considerations were certainly front and center, one of his motivations was to stave off a constitutional amendment restricting marriage to 1 man and 1 woman. IMHO, back in the late 90s, such an amendment might well have passed and been ratified by 3/4 of the states. Recall that at that time, no state had recognized same sex marriage.
