Obama: ‘Crypto-Muslim’ or ‘Revolutionary Leftist’?

Pat Robertson brought “terror expert” Erick Stakelbeck — he’s actually a former sports reporter with neither credentials nor experience in that field — on the 700 Club and asked if he thought Obama was a “crypto-Muslim.” Stakelbeck said no, he’s a “revolutionary Marxist” trying to destroy “Judeo-Christian western civilization.”

This is all amusingly idiotic. What on earth could the phrase “revolutionary leftist” even mean when applied to an American president? You don’t get to be president without falling into a very narrow band of political ideology that is a long way from Marxism. He does know that a revolution is a violent overthrow, right? Obama certainly hasn’t led one of those. And he does know that a Marxist wants to eliminate all private property, right? Obama certainly hasn’t done anything to make that happen. These are just scary-sounding but utterly meaningless words, dog whistles to get the attention of the hopelessly ignorant or deluded.

Well,it’s no longer considered acceptable to use such terms as “filthy n*gger” in public, so they have to keep using other terms as a substitute. It doesn’t matter if the dictionary definition of the word accurately reflects anything about Obama, just that is sounds scary enough to make Pat’s audience crap in their Depends.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: these people are still fighting the 1960′s, where the uppity Blacks are all changing their names to African ones, leaving Christianity for Islam, and selling Mao’s Little Red Book to fund their local Panther chapter. They’ve been nursing that combination in their nightmares for nearly five decades now, and they are giddy with delight that it has come “true”.

He’s also an ineffective revolutionary Marxist, which is worse.

    Crypto-Muslim or revolutionary Marxist?

Since when did we have to choose between the two? That’s just a nutty as deciding whether Obama is Fascist or Communist, anti-colonial or imperialist. When it’s obvious to anyone with half a brain (like me) that he’s all of them at once!

It’s not that hard. Be anal about the Bill of Rights. Geekily try to explain convoluted legal concepts to people who are not interested. And snark on anyone who just don’t get the beauty of convoluted legal concepts.

    Easy.

… a Marxist wants to eliminate all private property, right?

Most Marxists I know just wanna de-privatize the means of production and implement a steeply graduated income/wealth tax whereby to expand the “public sector”.

They know better than to try to take away my comic books!

Things the Bible rarely or never talks about: voluntary abortion, divorce, premarital sex, being gay
Things the Bible talks about all the time: Supporting the poor, being nice to foreigners (including resident aliens), regulating businesses (workers are required to get paid promptly, have Shabbat & holidays off, &c)

Which party is the party of Biblical morality, again?
