Wingnut on Wingnut Crime: Wiles vs Barton, Reed, Hagee

Rick Wiles of TruNews continues to stake out the most extreme far right positions imaginable and he’s attacking evangelical Christian leaders who have refused to stop working with Glenn Beck. Beck is a Mormon, of course, and Wiles calls those Christians who work with him “Judases” who will answer to God:

Beck has really played that same game of finding – and I’m just going to be blunt – what I call modern day Judases who are willing to sell out the faith for money to basically stand next to Beck and give his lie that he’s a Christian credibility.

Just so your audience understands, I don’t care what Glenn Beck wants; If he thinks he’s going to die and become the man in the moon, that’s great, just like I don’t care what Tom Cruise believes, obviously. But the difference is Tom Cruise doesn’t want to run around paying high-profile evangelicals to give credence to a lie that he’s a Christian like Beck does.

And that’s my whole issue with Beck and my bigger issue with guys like Barton, John Hagee, James Robison to name a few, Ralph Reed again. People that have come alongside Beck, have utilized his media empire – that’s been their lure – and in return, they never confront Beck on his false beliefs, they never speak out against this cult that is leading souls to Hell. And so, I believe that God’s really going to hold these people accountable for literally selling out the Gospel for thirty pieces of silver.

More please!

he’s attacking evangelical Christian leaders who have refused to stop working with Glenn Beck. Beck is a Mormon,…

There so cute when they try to think.

    It is at least traditional.

The Southern Baptists have an official position on Mormons. They are nonxians and all going to hell. They say so often on their websites and even send missionaries to Utah.

None of that stopped them from supporting and voting for Romney though. Hating the same groups as the Mormons trumps theology any day.

What Wiles is doing is obvious. The fundie cultist donation pie is finite. He wants a bigger piece and Glenn Beck is in the way. Beck has proven adept at conning money out of religious wingnuts, estimated net worth around $100 million, made in just a few years.

We’re nearly at the point at which you should have to take a course, pass a test, and get a license before you’re allowed to use the word “literally”.

Call me when we literally reach that point.

Is there a purity test for liberals like there are so many for conservatives?

Is there a purity test for liberals like there are so many for conservatives?

Sure, there is. It goes something like this:

    “Hey, are you a liberal?”

    “Yeah.”

    “Okay.”

“… God’s really going to hold these people accountable for literally selling out the Gospel for thirty pieces of silver.”

He’s evidently pissed that they are selling out for such a low, low price.

A denarius is a silver coin of about 50 grains (1 troy pound is 480 grains). Assuming a purity of 99.9999% that’s around US$0.84 per coin or US$25.225 for all 30.
He’d have held out for at least thirty bucks.

It’s been “us and them” for the last 2,000 years.

It will be “us and them” for the next 2,000 years as well.

People love playing the victim card. They love to pretend that they are the salt of the earth and the big bad boogyman is out to get them. Preachers will never go broke selling that message, and the mugs in the pews will never tire of listening to it.

If we all lie really still…like Frodo in the tower at Cirith Ungol…odds are they will eradicate each other like the Orcs and the hurak hai fighting over trinkets.

The rest of us need do nothing…dumb stupidity, greed, ego and ignorance will do our work for us!

    Sure there is .

Did you vote for the most recent Democratic Party drone who proposes slashing the safety net, refuses to prosecute war crimes, and appoints Wall Street gambling casino operators to high positions of power?

    Yes!

You ARE a liberal. Hope and Change. Hope and Change, Baby!
