Swanson: Colorado Worst Place on Earth

Kevin Swanson and Dave Buehner of Generations Radio are from Colorado, but they don’t seem happy there. I don’t mean a little unhappy. I don’t mean mildly disappointed. I mean “more tyrannical than communist China and maybe even North Korea.” Yes, that’s a direct quote. Here’s the rest:

If it was evil, they loved it; if it was against God’s laws, they said go for it. Our legislature in Colorado stuck a finger in God’s eye every opportunity that they had in this last legislative season, it was amazing, they obliterated family freedoms at every step, they trashed gun rights, they embraced every moral abomination they could find, they undermined liberty at every single point.

Their vision for Colorado is a drugged-out, marijuana’d-out homosexual culture where children are abused as much as possible, because children in non-nuclear families are twenty times more likely to be abused than children in nuclear families, so children abused as much as possible.

This is the vision of the Democrats, get children abused, kill them in the womb as much as possible, be sure there are as many dysfunctional families as possible, as many homosexual families as possible and children abused as much as possible, so government can grow their child welfare services even more, so that they can kill more kids, so that more adults can commit adultery, so that more kids would be murdered, so that more kids would be abused, so more government would tax and regulate and tax and regulate to produce the worst possible hellhole on planet earth.

Hyperbole much? I’ve told you a million times not to exaggerate.

I mean “more tyrannical than communist China and maybe even North Korea.”

I take it that they’re complainging about the revelations about the NSA’s unconstitutional data collection programs?

Holy First Kissing-Cousin of Jesus, but that shit’s frightfully ludicrous.

Have they ever presented a reason why liberals want to do all that? Like, “It’s all part of their nefarious plan to take over the world!” I’ve been to all the meetings, and nobody mentioned that as part of our plan. Because, that’s just fucking stupid, as far as world domination goes.

All that hyperbole, just to play the part of brave little soldiers in the army of the lord.

Liberals want to do these things because Liberals are evil. Liberals are evil because they don’t have Jesus. QED

So they allowed people to grow a plant and enter into civil unions, but they undermined liberty at the same time? I’m still trying to understand that one.

Phase 1 – ” get children abused, kill them in the womb as much as possible, be sure there are as many dysfunctional families as possible”

    Phase 2 – ?

    Phase 3 – Profit

I’ve read the bible, and I’ve missed the whole gun rights part of God’s Law. Which chapter and verse is it again?

    Book of AK 4:7

Because I asked that question some years ago, I know the answer: God is for gun ownership because Jesus said to sell your cloak and buy a sword.

When I pointed out that this was pretty much taken completely out of context, I was told I hated my country and the Constitution and didn’t know anything about the Bible. Odd. I thought I was a Christian who knew the Bible quite well, and was also pretty sure I loved my country. At any rate, that is the answer I was given.

Already worse than North Korea? You know what else North Korea doesn’t allow?

That’s right — NK doesn’t let you leave. There’s not not much time left!

When people like this complain about how horrible things are in America, it makes me happy, becouse I wouldn’t want to live the society they would want to live in.

“Liberty” is “telling other people what to do”. And “Small Government” is the enforcement division.

Holy crap…they obliterated family freedom in Colorado? No wonder they’re so upset if they’re not even allowed to have families anymore.

  13. says

“Right now, Florida is the worst place on earth.”

Not even remotely. Florida is awesome. In the US there are about 100 murders a day. Just because one in florida becomes a CNN soap opera doesn’t mean jack in the big scheme of things. Get some perspective. There’s a reason we’re the only state with its own Fark tag. Because it’s awesome here. Awesomely cray-cray.

  14. raven says

Why don’t they move to one of the god soaked US states.

    Alabama, Mississippi, Texas, etc..

They score low in quality of life and high in social problems but so what?

To this sort of xian, those are features not bugs.

There are a lot of reasons why I live on the west coast and not Oklahoma. I’ve been to those states and these days, have no intention of even visiting them.

Or just move to a xian theocracy country somewhere. Hmmm, oh, that is why. These guys are hypocrites who don’t walk their talk.

PS Four of my friends, two couples have, in fact, left the USA for good. They just got fed up and decided they wanted to live in a better place. The last two were dual citizens and went back to Europe to retire. It was the European health care system that pulled them in. They were getting old and age related stuff was starting to happen i.e. chronic medical conditions.

  15. starskeptic says

Jesus Harold Christ! It’s getting so you can’t even fuck your sister anymore without somebody raising a stink…

  16. raven says

These guys don’t seem very bright.

If they don’t like Colorado, the next state over is similar in geography.

    Utah.

And it is the closest thing we have to a theocracy, the right wing extremists Mormons run it.

Oddly enough, Utah is one of my favorite places to visit. Mountains, deserts, rivers, and 5 national parks.

    matty1 @ 10 & Modus @ 15:

No, no, no! Doncha know that the Constitution and Bill of Rights was handed on carved tablets directly to George Washington by Jesus? They are now appendixes to the Bible … which is why people like Swanson and Buehner don’t read them anymore than they read the original/

  18. says

“…so government can grow their child welfare services even more, so that they can kill more kids…”

So the function of child welfare services is to kill kids? I can’t really fathom the sort of coo coo it takes to reason yourself into that one.

  19. coffeehound says

..they undermined liberty at every single point.

And there you are, spouting off about it on public radio…just like I’m sure you would be if you lived in North Korea……doofus.

  20. says

Their vision for Colorado is a drugged-out, marijuana’d-out homosexual culture where children are abused as much as possible…

Correction: A drugged-out, homosexual, child abusive culture with awesome ski slopes.

  21. coffeehound says

    @ 12,

Because I asked that question some years ago, I know the answer: God is for gun ownership because Jesus said to sell your cloak and buy a sword.

So now, following this logic, God loves guns, but now hates winter wear?

  22. whirligig says

Heretics! That quote says “swords”. Not daggers, not flails, not crossbows or Nerf darts, swords. Not even the generic “weapons”. Why are they changing the holy, infallible word of Lord God Jesus Almighty, who very well knew guns would be invented some day, but chose not to recommend them?

  23. acroyear says

The only hellhole in Colorado that I know about is Colorado Springs, where tax-cut/spend-thrift Republicans have dominated for the last 20 years, reducing police forces, closing public parks, not repairing/replacing streetlights, atrocious spending cuts for schools and school food programs, etc. Aside from the scenery (outside of town), there is simply nothing in that city to make it worth being there.

  24. raven says

The only hellhole in Colorado that I know about is Colorado Springs,…

Isn’t that the place that keep having huge and destructive forest fires? Including one this year that burned a lot of houses.

Hmmm, maybe god hates Colorado Springs.

I don’t know much about Colorado Springs except that it has a lot of fundie xian groups headquartered there and is supposed to be in a scenic area.

I’d go for Boulder myself. Same scenery minus the religious kooks.

I’m only allowed to commit adultery when children die, so I’m all for it.

  26. Loqi says

children in non-nuclear families are twenty times more likely to be abused than children in nuclear families, so children abused as much as possible.

Twenty times some number is the maximum amount possible. That’s how math works.

Okay, Democrats, bring it in. I think we got carried away with the child-killing thing at the last planning meeting. Now, I like infanticide as much as the next liberal, but I’m starting to think that the decline in population is going to cut into our tax-and-spend goal, so everyone go back to turning children into hethens and homosexuals for a while, and I’ll get back to you on the kid killing plan. … Oh, and don’t forget to steal their candy.

    .
This reminds me of all those 1950s science fiction movies I grew up with. Aliens from out there somewhere were always trying to take our planet (because that’s what we would do) and were always foiled in the end by either innocuous or common substances (e.g. bacteria or salt water) or… the atomic bomb. Because, of course, interstellar traveling aliens wouldn’t be familiar with these things, nor know how to deal with them.
    .
I think Yahweh must have been foiled by those iron chariots (“They’ve got chariots! Of iron!“) before he became the creator of the universe. When rewriting history later and perhaps enhancing his role just a bit he must have missed a few passages.

  30. kermit. says

Guys like this think that morality is a matter of obeying the magic sky king’s arbitrary orders. There is no good and evil except groveling and obeying. This is why they always get liberal morality wrong (besides active and malevolent misrepresentation). They really have no clue what informed consent means. They must believe that it is some sort of rhetorical device used for arguing.
    .
It’s true that much of their morality is based on their feelings; the yuck response or anger or fear determines much of their ideas of right and wrong, but they project that onto their god, and it is a largely unconscious process.
    .
This is one of the things which makes them so dangerous. If they think that God wants you dead, they will believe that they have a moral obligation to kill you. It’s almost as though they were like some other religious fanatics who kill for God, but I can’t quite dredge up which ones from memory…

    Re kermit @ #33

In the 1953 War of the Worlds movie, the nuclear bomb was quite ineffective (as Les Tremayne playing General Mann exclaims in frustration). By the way, the term nuclear should be used instead of atomic.
