Steven Anderson on Irish Radio

Hemant linked to this Youtube video of Pastor Steven Anderson, the fascist Arizona minister who gets up every morning, picks up his wife and carries her across the room just to remind her that he’s bigger and stronger and can make her do whatever he wants. It’s long but chock full of crazy.

He says the government should executive gay people, as it says in Leviticus:

Well, the Bible actually teaches that gays should be executed… now, I’m not saying that I would ever kill anyone, because I never would, but I believe that the government should use the death penalty on murderers, rapists, homosexuals, and… that’s what the Bible teaches very clearly.

Welcome to theocratic totalitarianism.

It should :”executive” gay people? Nah, let ‘em get to the corner office under their own power, I say.

Man, he’s sure into killing others, though. Why do I keep thinking of that line from Yellowbeard: “I’ll kill anyone who tries to stop me from killing anyone.”

Typical Christian coward. Would’t kill anyone himself but is fine having the government do his dirty work for him.

This is the same guy that tried to kill President Obama using witchcraft. Casting a magic spell aka imprecatory prayer.

IIRC, the FBI had a few questions for him about that.

    wikipedia:

The church received national attention in the United States in August 2009 when it was reported that in Pastor Anderson’s sermon “Why I hate Barack Obama” he had been praying for the death of the president.[13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20] In response to the statements Anderson noted the United States Secret Service contacted him.[3]

It was the Secret Service not the FBI.

Anderson’s church is listed as a hate group in many places, a fact that he is quite proud of.

I haven’t patience enogh to watch this, but just in case he doesn’t mention here’s a few more capital crimes from Exodus, Leviticus and Deuteronomy:

being a medium, spiritualist or a witch
being an adulterer, committing maternal incest, committing bestiality, having premarital sex – if you’re a woman (no penalty for men)
having sex with both a woman and her mother
seducing some other man’s (supposed to be virgin) fiancee
    raping an engaged woman
    female prostitution
murder (sometimes), kidnapping, cursing your parents, smiting your parents. letting your ox kill someone
blasphemy, working on Shabat, ignoring a priest’s decision
accidentally killing a pregnant woman, perjury
being a male who is not circumcised
eating leavened bread during the Feast of Unleavened Bread
    manufacturing anointing oil
engaging in ritual animal sacrifices other than at the temple
consuming blood this would include eating rare meat.
eating peace offerings while ritually unclean
waiting too long before consuming sacrifices
sexual activity with a woman who is menstruating
going to the temple in an unclean state
    teaching another religion (than judaism)
a prophet whose prophecy does not come true
    gluttony and excessive drinking

death row is going to be full again; praise be to YWHW

The death penalty for a prophet whose prophecy does not come true! Where would Ed get half his columns from? There would have been a real bloodbath among Fox News commentators during the last election.

death penalty on… rapists… that’s what the Bible teaches very clearly.

Really? It doesn’t seem so clear to me. There are situations where the rapist can buy his victim from her father.

Then there are the situations where it teaches very clearly where rape victims should be executed. I’d love to ask him about that.

Two things for Mr Anderson. First, Leviticus just says the sinner has to be put to death. doesn’t say who’s to do it. So where did he get the idea that a government, something the Israelites did not have when the lwaw was given, was to do it?
Second, many homosexuals have guns. Remember that Mr Anderson when you pick up the first stone.

Anderson’s church is listed as a hate group in many places, a fact that he is quite proud of.

And so to, presumably, is his brain dead congregation?

Are they really that deluded that the question of …is this really ‘ Christianity’? is never seemingly asked.
To be part of a hate group…to an xtian I would think that is a bit of a bust right there.

Are xtians getting dumber and more psychopathic or something?

Xtianity in its fundy incarnation has a proud history of blood spilling, it seems you have to be a sadistic, ignorant, pompous bigot to be an xtian these days…maybe with so many leaving the fold so to speak we are getting down to a distilled concentrated insane liquor of pure xtianity.

This is the essence of the earlier versions that slaughtered Muslims and Cathars with impunity and it seems to have donated a rogue gene to the dumb pool…
Maybe atheists and three thinkers have a modified version of the CCR5-Δ32 and are therefore immune from the disease.
Makes as much sense as anything that this Anderson muppet regurgitates.

    To answer your question:

Pastor Steven Anderson, the fascist Arizona minister

    (Emphasis added.)

  11. 11
M can help you with that.

Maybe if Anderson insists that this is a matter of academic freedom…

My very favourite kooky Bible atrocity is Deuteronomy 25:11-12, which basically says that if two men are disputing something, and the wife of one of them tries to stop the dispute by grabbing the dingleberries of the other guy, she should have her hand cut off. “Show her no pity,” it literally says.

And I can’t help but think that this one was written into the Big Book of Important Laws because of a specific incident, y’know? I mean, it’s just about GOT to involve some poor bugger going whining to the chief in a falsetto about how Abab’s wife stopped his righteous bout with Babab.

“Write that one in, scribe slave. Write it in BIG LETTERS.”

Erm, either both are Abab, or both are Babab. It wasn’t a three-way fight. Dopeyfingers.

Ah, Steven Anderson! I’m feeling a bit of vomit at the back of my throat again.

Ya know, like Anderson, the spousal unit is a very large, strong man; much bigger and stronger than I am. But I’m a better shot and he knows it.

Maybe Mrs. Anderson should start going to the range.

Anderson’s wife is, if anything, loonier than he is.

Wasn”t this the same creep who showed up to heath care town hall meeting with an assault rifle slung on his shoulder?

Double checked Google. Anderson is the pastor of the creep who showed up at an Obama rally with an AR-15.

If he wants to enforce Biblical laws, would he be ok with a Biblical standard of evidence? Because the Bible doesn’t say to execute gays unless two Orthodox Jewish men saw them having gay sex, gave them fair warning that what they were doing was illegal, and gave them am opportunity to stop.

(Even when biblical theocracy existed, capital punishment was very rare, largely due to standard of evidence. From the Mishnah, tractate Makkot, discussing the Jewish supreme court, ‘The Sanhedrin that executes one person in seven years is called “murderous.”‘ Not that theocracy is a good idea, just that these bloodthirsty Christians don’t know what they’re talking about.)

What a fuckwit. Lets hope he doesn’t use his legs when lifting his wife and throws his back out.
