Feder: The Concentration Camps are Coming

Always one to be calm and rational, wingnut Don Feder has a new column out declaring that Obama may soon begin rounding up conservatives and putting them into concentration camps. All because of the IRS scandal, because there’s obviously a direct connection between asking a few non-profit groups to answer some additional questions and creating the Fourth Reich.

Since he came to office 4 1/2 long years ago, Obama has been concentrating on destroying the conservative movement – eliminating any opposition to the socialist republic he’s creating. In a few years, many of us could be “camping” in a very real sense.

If that sounds alarmist, read on. And try to see the big picture – not snooping, secret e-mail accounts, official harassment and intimidation, sundry assaults on the First Amendment and using the IRS as a presidential goon squad in isolation– but as a deliberate, coordinated, far-reaching plan to use the machinery of government to crush dissent…

How can you not trust a man who lied to you about what happened in Benghazi, lied when he told you that if you liked your health insurance plan, you could keep it under ObamaCare, lied about not raising taxes on the middle class, lied about the impact of sequestration, lied about the use of chemical weapons in Syria being a “red line,” and, just today, promised to keep North Korea from getting the nuclear weapons it already has.

Never mind. You just trust Obama, and you go right on trusting him – until they shove you in a cattle car.

Mr. Godwin, call your office.

WHY are these guys so upset? Such a program could only raise the collective IQ of the nation.

You’d think he’d be calling on his supporters to volunteer.

  2. Draken says

@Zinc Avenger: no, first they’re going to liquify Nazi Analogy and pump it through a leaky pipeline until it is exhausted.

Yes, the government of the US has gone so far to crush dissent that Feder can only complain about it completely free of censorship, on an Internet site, hosted in the US using government-paid-for-infrastructure. And he has to deal with teams of SWAT officers not bashing down his door, not shooting his dog, and not leaving a note saying “Oops, wrong apartment”. He has to somehow find a way to bear up under the pressure of not being arrested, not sent to a camp, nor just killed outright on the spot.

How does he find the strength to carry on?

And all the other super-right-wing types are left with only a couple of major media networks to squeak out their heavily-repressed message.

Boo fucking hoo. These people’s heads are so far up their own asses their colons should have their own area codes.

If you can tolerate me stating the obvious, I was under the impression that the conservative movement was being destroyed by itself from within. It is so utterly vacuous and devoid of any substance that it has become a parody of conservatism, and many people are jumping off the bandwagon. The Republican party may be in for a major ass-whooping in the next House election.

  5. cptdoom says

No, no, what could he be thinking. We all know that concentration camps in the US are limited to Gitmo and the innocent people incarcerated there are all brown-skinned, so it’s ok, right?

Conservatives have been promising for decades that they would be herded off into concentration camps very soon. I wish they would stop yapping and just get on with it, but like most conservative promises, it seems to be nothing but hot tepid air.

I’m starting to feel like a frog in a sauce pan and am suffering from over-the-top fatigue. I’m starting to feel like I should just pat them on the top of their heads, say that’s nice dear, now go back outside and play nicely.

Who is Corsi talking about? I’ve seen plenty of lies on these issues, but the vast majority of them are coming from the wingnuts, not from Obama. Not that I trust Obama much, but I trust Corsi and his factually-challenged brethren far, far less. One could even say; not at all.

  9. Gvlgeologist, FCD says

As far as I know, the only group that has actually proposed sending people to concentration camps in recent memory are right wingers, especially as far as “teh Gay” is concerned.

    in the street.

  10. kemist, Dark Lord of the Sith says

If that sounds alarmist, read on.

    No, dear.

    It sounds delusional.

In any rational society such incoherent gibberings would be dismissed as the kind of spit-flecked word salad induced by an overdose of badly cut hallucinogen, and either ignored or used as comedy material.

…lied about the use of chemical weapons in Syria being a “red line,” and, just today, promised to keep North Korea from getting the nuclear weapons it already has.

Yeah, if there was one evil charactieristic Hitler had, it was his tendency to warn others that he would go to war and then not do it.

  12. ema says

Ha, am I the only one who read it as “Feder: The Contraception Camps are Coming”?

  13. Lofty says

I’ve heard of these “Contraception Camps”, they’re called Retirement Villages I believe. The next step is the nursing home next door, then it’s curtains for you.

@15: “Ha, am I the only one who read it as “Feder: The Contraception Camps are Coming”?

    Most likely, yes.

  15. dan4 says

@10: The writer is Don Feder. Why don’t you read the entirety of Ed’s post before you comment?

  16. birgerjohansson says

Can I join the storm troopers? I have a Rush Limbaugh belly, so the white armour/exoskeleton had better be available in the XXL size. (whistles “The Imperial March/Darth Vader’s theme”)

BTW Contraception is ungodly, so it would be almost as bad as concentration camps.

Do to a lack of spend on infrastructure, the railways, and thus cattle cars, are no longer available for mass transportation. So, please do be good libertarians, and transport yourself to the designated camp. On your way, feel free to yell and mock the poor for not being able to afford their own rides to the camps.

@18: There’s a known freethoughtblogs bug where comments are sometimes posted onto the wrong thread. Why don’t you chill out before calling someone out for something that’s likely not their fault?

  19. dan4 says

@23″…where comments are sometimes posted onto the wrong thread.”

Uh, did you even read the comment that Artor posted @10? He specifically quoted from the Feder column (i.e, his comment wasn’t “posted onto the wrong thread”).
