John Hagee Thinks Al Haig Was Involved in 9/11

John Hagee seems to be awfully confused. He seems to think that after 9/11, Alexander Haig claimed to be in charge of the country. Uh, John — Al Haig said that during the Reagan administration, after the president was shot. Oh, and there’s some standard issue misogyny in the clip too.

To be fair Reagan being shot and 9/11 happened in rapid succession just 20 years apart

My great grandmother started watching his program after she got to an age where she couldn’t go to church anymore. I used to sit and watch with her sometimes, and always had to bite my tongue. He’s terrible.

Check out the audience just sitting there and begging to be gulled.

That screenshot from the video with his suit and the flaming background makes it look like he is preaching directly from a pulpit in Hell.

I didn’t actual watch the video, but for some strange reason, after looking at the screenshot, I’m hungry for some bar-b-que pork.

No doubt a bunch of his viewers will think Haig is a major player in the Obama Administration.

To be fair. I don’t think Haig was claiming he was the acting president. I think he was assuming proper responsibility as the highest ranking member of the executive branch who was still in DC. “I am in charge, I will represent the executive branch until we can sort this out.” was how I remember it, though I was 13 at the time.

The Hagee family has no future. I don’t see his son preaching in Spanish. They have no future. The Castro Twins from keynote night at the DNC will crush Texas in the next ten years. It’s just like the 1988 DNC. Ann Richards went on to become the last gasp of the awesome progressive Texas I grew up in and Bill Clinton became president. Joaquin and Julian will win Texas back and one of them will become president.

Francisco – you’re quite right about Haig. Hope you’re right about the Castros.

Yikes, I can’t believe I’m (kinda, sorta) defending John Hagee, but it seems a bit strong to characterize what he said in the clip as “misogyny.” I’d go more with “mildly sexist generalization.”
