Another Wingnutapalooza This Week

This weekend will bring yet another wingnutapalooza, hosted by Ralph Reed’s Faith and Freedom Coalition. The lineup is a who’s who of right wing crazy, including Sarah Palin, Michele Bachmann, Pat Robertson, Randy Forbes, Louis Gohmert, Donald Trump and Allen West. Oh, and John Ratzenberger for some reason. Remember him? He was Cliff Claven on Cheers. It seems like they have one of these things about once a month.

It appears that John Ratzenberger forgot that he isn’t actually Cliff Claven and can drop the dumbass act now. Will he make appearances as a cartoon talking piggy bank next?

    Interesting aside:
Faith and Freedom Coalition is a 501(c)(4).
501(c)(4)s are “operated exclusively for the promotion of ‘social welfare’“.
Anybody see anything listed in this “Road to Majority” conference that isn’t a GOP operation lead by GOP politicians or operatives? Sure, “fight[ing] for a return to limited Constitutional government and oppos[ing]…socialistic tax-and-spend policies” could qualify as “social welfare” (from 1st link), but if “social welfare” means “our team isn’t the other team”, then the scam of 501s is that thing I just called them.

I’ve often compared the wingnut barstool blowhards to Cliff Claven. You mean to tell me Cliff Claven is Cliff Claven too?

Totally agree, MO. There’s a whole shedload of tax-exempt organizations which do nothing but partisan politics (and on my side of yer northern border too, here in America Lite). It’s disgusting, considering the amount of money they’re splashing around, that it should be tax-exempt. Terrible public policy, especially in the ISSA*, where corporations are people, my friend. Ugh. Past time for a revolution.

Is this the dress rehearsal for the Bring Your AK-47 to DC On Independence Day rally?

That actually bums me out. I like John Ratzenberger’s voice work. I knew he was a Republican, but I didn’t realize he was a “go to the loony convention” sort of Republican.

Well, this explains why John Ratzenberger was so convincing as Cliff Claven.

Finally! A forum that gives marginalized populists like: Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Rand Paul, Senator Marco Rubio, former Senator Rick Santorum, Rep Paul Ryan, Rep. Michelle Bachmann, Rep. Randy Forbes, Rep. Louie Gohmert, Senator Mike Lee, Senator Mike Lee, Senator Ron Johnson, Senator Jeff Sessions, and former Rep. Allen West a voice to counter entrenched beltway interests.
