Wingnut on Wingnut Crime: Gheen v Fox News

William Gheen, the head of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC), is mighty upset at Fox News. It seems that the news channel just isn’t working hard enough to make people afraid of the immigration reform bill being put together in the Senate. So he’s written an open letter to the network making a rather warped argument.

Mr. Rupert Murdoch, Mr. Roger Ailes, and Fox News Show Hosts:

Over the last 8 years, I have been a guest on your network many times. But it appears that I, and most other opponents of illegal immigration and amnesty for illegal immigrants, are no longer welcome on Fox News now that your corporation is lobbying to pass immigration reform amnesty for millions of illegal aliens…

The greatest betrayal of Fox News and all producers and show hosts participating in these illegal alien amnesty support efforts is that you are literally working to displace and replace your most loyal viewers at the ballot box.

The new voting bloc of tens of millions of illegal aliens will render American conservatives and the Tea Party members permanently ineffectual in American elections if the amnesty bill supported by Fox News passes.

Americans who overwhelmingly support border security, debt reduction, restrained taxation, and responsible government spending clearly do not have control of our own government at this time.

Any hopes of reestablishing civilian control over Washington, DC, through peaceful and political means will vanish if legislation rubber stamping Obama’s dictatorial decrees granting amnesty to illegals leads to eventual voting rights for illegal immigrants.

Uh, Mr. Gheen…the fact that you lose elections does not mean that there is no “civilian control” over the government; it just means that other “civilians” that disagree with you are in control of it.

Your corporation has now created Fox News Latino which consistently produces terribly biased propaganda pieces that promote amnesty and illegal immigration while attacking any leaders or groups that oppose the invasion, which shows that you are now heavily financially invested in continuing illegal immigration into America and amnesty for illegal immigrants! If illegal immigration were to stop or reverse, we would not need Spanish language news in America in a decade. Only through amnesty for illegals and further illegal immigration and non-assimilation will your investment in Fox News Latino pay off!

With Fox News jumping on board with MSNBC, CNN, CBS, the Associated Press, George Soros, the Saudis, the Mexicans, the Chinese, and Barack Obama, and now with Google and Facebook, you all have this Brave New 1984 Totalitarian World wrapped up for us all, don’t you?

What recourse will American citizens or any groups and leaders who should oppose this nation burying Globalist agenda have to reach out and communicate with others when almost all major communications points are now part of the same cabal?

Well, you can always write badly reasoned screeds like this one.

So the instant illegals get amnesty they’ll all be voting? Fits right in with the Republican election fraud hysteria.

    How disappointing, Mr Gheen.

A while back I subscribed to ALIPAC’s email list, mostly out of curiosity to see what far-right immigration opponents talk about. The emails aren’t super-interesting, but it is notable that they consider themselves outside of the Republican mainstream. They are quite concerned about “Amnesty” breaking out, and “Illegal Immigrants” being considered legal.

legislation rubber stamping Obama’s dictatorial decrees

If they are dictatorial decrees, why is legislation necessary before they come into force?

I know, I know – silly question. When Obama signs legislation passed by Congress, he dictatorially decrees that it become law. When he appoints a new National Security Adviser, he dictatorially decrees that they henceforth hold that position, until he dictatorially decrees otherwise. When he’s asked how he wants his coffee, he dictatorially decrees that it be black. When he shaves in the morning, he dictatorially decrees that his cheeks become smooth.

Cause that’s how totalitarian regimes work, right? By cooperating with others to promote more rights for a minority group?! Those bastards!!

It’s utterly astonishing to me that he’s lost all sense of awareness of the ‘globalist agenda’ that brought his ancestors to the American continent. I’m not intending to be nasty about their presence. I’m well aware that they were often driven by need, oppression and sometimes plain old force. But why has he lost so much memory of it that he’s applying this ‘foreign invader’ rhetoric to the newcomers?

    Pen @11:

That’s not really surprising at all. Every immigrant group in the history of the USA has had to fight for acceptance into the mainstream. The moment they achieved it – and one of the ways in which they did – was to turn around and start demonizing the next group. This is just the latest round of the neverending story.

What’s an old Republican to do? I became one back when that meant being a member of the Loyal Opposition. But the Grand Old Party has been hijacked by an unholy alliance of corporati and the Religious Reich, and the Democrats seem to be bent on making sure that nobody can survive without some form of government subsidy, effectively making indentured servants of us all. Meanwhile, the Chinese hold so much of our debt that if it weren’t for our nuclear arsenal, they could simply foreclose and own us.

You have to understand how the wingnut brain works. They only like elections when they win. Since they believe only they have the right to run things, any election in which they lose is therefore illegitimate. And any decisions made by elected officials who aren’t them are therefore dictatorial. This is why Bush could be the “unitary executive” and build up the surveillance state with impunity, but now that Obama is continuing it, they are suddenly outraged.

I have one quibble with the OP.

“It seems that the news channel just isn’t working hard enough to make people afraid of the immigration reform bill being put together in the Senate.”

FOX is not about “news”, never really has been.

” I became one back when that meant being a member of the Loyal Opposition”

That would have been sometime before 1960.

“But the Grand Old Party has been hijacked by an unholy alliance of corporati and the Religious Reich,”

Hoist on their own petard. They invited the fuckers in with open arms–and the racists, also, too.

“the Democrats seem to be bent on making sure that nobody can survive without some form of government subsidy.”

you might need to find a few citations to back this whopper.
