Jackson’s Latest Explanation

Bishop E.W. Jackson, preacher turned candidate for the lt. governor’s officer in Virginia, is still trying to find a way to make his long record of batshit crazy statements go away so they don’t hurt his and Ken Cuccinelli’s campaign to win the state house. After saying initially that he had nothing to apologize for, he now says:

As Democrats and the media continue to hammer Virginia lieutenant governor hopeful E.W. Jackson for his past comments on social issues, the Christian minister says he is battling what he calls the “mainstream media’s caricature” of him.

In an email sent to The Daily Caller this week, the running mate to Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli said “every one of those comments has a context and were spoken in my role as a minister, not as a candidate.”

To be fair, perhaps he has a point. Since he said them as a minister, perhaps one should assume that he was either lying or just plain full of shit. Then again, that’s true of politicians as well.

“every one of those comments has a context and were spoken in my role as a minister, not as a candidate.”

“Spoken in my role as a minister” is the new “Not intended to be a factual statement.”

If someone caught a conservative on camera devouring a baby, they’d blame the mainstream media for taking it out of context.

So hateful comments are okay since he said them as a minister?

Quick warning: Don’t read the comments. They are actually saying the liberals are bigots for simply pointing out what he said.

So he changes his whole personality and beliefs by simply changing his clothes from something a preacher would wear to a business suit. Why do I find that hard to swallow?

    SOP for wingnuts.

    1) Whatever your fault is, project it onto your opponent. So, if you’re a hateful bigot, call others hateful bigots.

    2) Whine about how liberals are never “tolerant” of your intolerance.

    3) Accusing liberals of name calling, usually in the same sentence you’re calling them “libtards” or something equally clever.

Jeremy Wright. was speaking in his roel as a minister, too.

That’s not even a double standard, it’s a triple standard.

I thought that was the anthem of ‘shit for brains ‘n’ jeebus is our cologne’ bunnies anyway…seems to be the premise they all work under from the head honchos down to the deluded legions including the moderates!…if there is any such critter as a moderate!

They are all prone to lying their raggedy asses off then when pulled up on it pretend that is not what they said or not what was meant or it is out of context or was a ‘misspoken’ phrase twisted by those damned liberal atheist devil worshippers.

“………those damned liberal atheist devil worshippers.”

I’m sick and tired of people not capitalizing “Devil”, it’s his name dammit. Everybody gets his name capitalized. What we have here is a double standard

My apologies I thought it was character description…as in…

“He is a real devil that one”
“The devil is in the detail”
    “The devil takes the hindmost”
” It is a devil of a job”

As for his name well we have a few …

    Beelzebub
    Satan
    Lucifer
    Mammon

And a whole raft of them in the ancient texts before the bible was a twinkle in a dumb goat herder’s eye!

So I supposes ya pays ya dosh ya takes ya fancy!

In my shaky defence…I do not capitalize god neither!
Must be some sort of a balance there for my sins surely?

It should be D_v_l. Vowels are blasphemy to supernatural beings.

@ ^ holytape : I don’t think Odin or Aphrodite or Pluto ever used to mind having their vowels retained. (These newer gods are so touchy!) ;-)

… spoken in my role as a minister, not as a candidate.

So church and state should be considered as rigorously distinct functions, with zero overlap, Bishop Mr. Jackson?
