Alex Jones: False Prophet

If you thought the religious right “prophets” were highly inaccurate in their predictions, take a look at this video of Alex Jones predicting dozens of things that never happened. Alex Jones is a long line of tradition going back to the John Birch Society, people who are always predicting impending doom. And the fact that they’re almost never right doesn’t seem to bother their followers in the least.

This was one of my favorites. He managed to get several fantasy conspiracies together all at once.

    Infowars:

The eugenicists are back with their latest program to kill an untold number of people under the cover of the “swine flu pandemic.” If you line up for a vaccination contaminated with mercury, aluminum, formaldehyde and other toxins — and a possible agent for future cancers designed to decimate world population — you need to have your head examined.

However, as Ron Paul indicates, you may not have a choice — the government may force you to choose between a toxic vaccine and a FEMA camp.

According to Alex Jones, the swine flu H1N1 vaccine was part of a UN population reduction program.

It was designed to kill millions or billions of people. If you didn’t voluntarily get the vaccine, you would be sent to a FEMA concentration camp.

Of course, none of that ever happened. In fact, the vaccine was a triumph of modern biotechnology and saved a lot of lives.

They never, ever notice that their prophecies and predictions never, ever happen. By the time one fantasy fails, they are on to the next.

Within the next 3-6 months, Alex Jones will run amok and personally bugger the entire population of the US to death.

if this doesn’t happen, it’ll be because I scared him off.

    Starting, perhaps, with itself ?

I await with bated breath the cries of the True Christians for the Biblically-mandated execution of the false prophet.

Well, maybe I won’t hold my breath.

    It’s the lizard people, people!

(I love that Alex was playing Carmina Burana in the background on one segment)

That sad thing is I still know people who consider this clown a legitimate journalist..

    I do too.

She is a schizophrenic who won’t take medication because doctors are in on the conspiracy.

She is indeed a sad case who frequently gets kicked out of subsidized housing for bizarre and disruptive behavior.

See, the people I know (really just via Facebook these days–haven’t spoken to them in person for years) are all people I remember being normal, even liking quote a lot. One’s even a former Democratic party activist type. But all seem to have gone off the deep end the moment Obama said the word “gun” within seven words of the word “control.”

Cool. A fairly common refrain from Jones fans/defenders is how we should take seriously the latest evidence-free conspiracy theory he has been espousing, since he “has been right so often in the past.”

  9. blf says

he “has been right so often in the past.”

Well, he is so far to the right he can probably cannot see the left due to the curvature of the universe.
