Rios: Schools Do Nothing But Teach The Gay Now

Sandy Rios had the deranged Linda Harvey on her radio show recently and apparently decided to match her level of unhingenuity (hey, I invented a word) by claiming that schools no longer teach any academic subjects, they only teach The Gay (cue the scary music) now.

Rios: That’s an advertisement for this Friday’s Day of Silence in American public schools. You know there was a day when American public schools actually taught reading, writing, cursive, spelling, grammar, punctuation, English literature, British literature, American civilization, but no more. For the last twenty-five years the National Education Association has been cramming, twisting, perverting all academic subjects to the way of supporting homosexuality. Now in an activist move to really further intimidate anyone who would object to it they incorporated a few years ago what’s called the Day of Silence.

It’s true. I have it on good authority that at one of our local schools, the only words in the class spelling bee were fellatio, amyl nitrate and Santorum. The only magazine in the school library now is The Advocate. They have mandatory assemblies every week to watch gay porn. And in algebra class, the formulas now all start with Gay2. It’s shocking, just shocking. It would be even more shocking if it was even remotely in contact with reality.

Interesting that nutcase Rios fails to mention such subjects as mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology, etc.

Ed, I am shamelessly stealing “unhingenuity” from you. It’s too late to copyright it now. But I have to point out an error; Teh Gayz don’t go with “scary music,” they go with FABULOUS music!!!

This has been going on for a while now. My sons’ physics classes all teach nothing but Gay Physics.

It must be true! One of my students said “That’s so gay” when confronted with the quadratic formula. (Probably had something to do with the radicals in it — or the plus-minus that goes both ways.)

I confess. On the day of silence I taught nothing but gay fizzics. I had to, otherwise I would be arrested by the Really Coordinated Mind Police that were formed when Canada allowed gay marriage so many years go.

    My first thought:
How is English Literature anything other than a subset of British literature?
(I presume by English Literature Rios means American Literature?)
I think I have been exposed to too many wingnuts.

Could be worse, there could be a group with a sinister agenda to teach verifiably false information in biology classes, oh wait…

joe_k: English literature means literature written in the English Language, including American literature, British literature, and anything else in English.

“Cramming” and “twisting.” Interesting choice of words.

English literature means literature written in the English Language

Which is to say, American literature of the past ~150 years (the language that Jesus wrote the King James in.) Those others aren’t real English; for instance, they can’t spell “color” correctly and use funny foreign words like “whilst.”

What the fuck is a “magazine?”

Oh if only I could have been taughten how to Gay when I was in school. I could have been FABULOUS(!). Now I’m just a boring old(er) straight white guy. *sigh*

“Amyl Nitrates” may have been on the old “Gay Agenda”. They must’ve been dropped from said agenda in the 21st century, for their sale has not been legal in the US for over a decade. On the bright side, it’s rumored the Children Indoctrination Committee is still split on including fun words like “Grindr” & “Growlr” purely for aesthetics reasons.

    “Cursive”. Such a worthwhile subject.

Damn. If she had said “ramming” and “throat”, I would’ve had bingo.

English literature is British literature not written by Irish, Scots or Welsh authors. The distinction may be lost WND fans and people who learned their geography from rethuglicans.

Sandy Rios should have her fluid levels checked. I think she’s down a quart.

For what it’s worth here is some non English British literature.

The best part is that a wingnut is frothing (SWIDT?) at the teaching of gay agenda words like “Santorum”. Someone tell Dan Savage: achievement unlocked, mission accomplished.

Well, of course. Straight Euclidean geometry and Newtonian physics are tools of the Patriarchy.

True. And I would add that when I was growing up, you had to go to Catholic school to learn about gay sex.

Is that anything like the Cone of Silence used by the Chief on Get Smart? Because, as I recall, it didn’t work too well.

And what’s with engineering classes, teaching about “alternate” current? In MY day, current was straight and direct. No acceptance of “alternate” pathways there.

They taught us all about Gay-Lussac’s law.

Heheh. I haven’t heard about amyl nitrate in any anti-gay propaganda in years. I think the last time I heard it mentioned was the last time I watched “Fear and Loathing.”

Seriously, does the National Education Association have anything at all to do with the Day of Silence? I just did a couple of web searches, and found no connection.

To reiterate on the English literature problem: English is a language, so that’s basically ALL literature written in English. British literature is a subset of that, just as American, Canadian and Australian literature are (as well ass all the other piles of books written by others all over the world, in English).

Damn. I must not have been paying attention for the last thirty years. I thought Chemistry and Physics (my teaching areas) were pretty much gender-neutral. Maybe Rios is talking about all that positive-negative stuff. But I never noticed any Lesbian chemistry, or Gay physics. Is that anything like Judenphysik? (Not to Godwin this too much).

    kermit.

It seems like the sciences are not even on Rios’s radar (or is that gaydar?).
    .
I was proud of my cursive as a kid, but I really have a hard time arguing for its necessity for my grandkids.
    .
So… English Lit is a subset of British literature, and vice versa. I’m glad we have that cleared up.
    .
ohioobservber – if you think God’s physics are neutral about gender, then you are clearly part of the problem. Anyway, people like Rios don’t like to think about scientifical stuff – it’s so hard to present as proper lessons for loving God and his love child, Jesus. History and properly chosen literature (whether from England or in English) are much better for instilling the proper moral lessons – the True Purpose of schools.

I’d love to give Zeno (#4) a +1 internet but I am all out ATM. Can someone spot me one to give this guy. His comment caused me to literally LOL.
