Thatcher’s Death a Warning to Obama

William Tapley has a terribly amusing video claiming that Margaret Thatcher’s death is a warning to Obama. It’s especially amusing how he claims a verse that refers to a lion in Daniel is really talking about a lioness and is therefore Thatcher. Why a lion and not a lioness? Because “she comes up out of the sea.” Uh, what?

Does he really mean that if Obama becomes a vicious right-wing bugger, who does everything he can to hurt the less privileged, then when he dies he’ll get an extravagant funeral while benefits are being cut again?
Sorry, sorry…personal feelings getting in the way again
    Ding! Dong!

Well, obviously! You hear people talk about sea lions, but never about sea lionesses.

I think I see the confusion, he’s been reading a certain C.S Lewis book and knew she was one of two characters associated with the wardrobe, he just got the wrong one.

OK I tried to watch the video, I got as far as “I’m your host William Tapley also known as the third eagle of the apocalypse” and collapsed laughing.

    Who Knows?

How does he call himself, “The Third Eagle of the Apocalypse” without just busting up laughing?

wow, the ergot must have been good for that one. The bit in daniel that he’s referrign too, I think: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Daniel+7&version=NIV

so we have a lion with the wings of an eagle, a bear, a four headed leopard

    and evidently truckasaurus.

    What, no song?

Regardless of anything else, he’s right that the word for “lion” in Daniel 7:4 is feminine.

Oh, that makes perfect sense, if you think about it for a minute. Lio-ness…”nass” means “wet” in German, and it was the Germans who planned an invasion code-named “Unternehmen Seelöwe”=”Operation Sealion“. And they were opposed by Winston Churchill, who was a Tory prime minister, just like Thatcher.

So that’s, like, three unrelated factoids that share a vaguely common theme. By wingnut standards, that’s ironclad evidence. And who used lots of ironclad warships in the 19th Century? The Royal Navy! So that’s four, four unrelated factoids.

I’ve got a warning for William Tapley too.

One day he will also end up like Margaret Thatcher.

    The death rate is 100%.

Unlike Thatcher, his death won’t be front page news. OTOH, crowds of people won’t be lining up to dance on his grave.

I pushed on a little further and can report he’s also a co-prophet, perhaps the first time prophecy has been run as a job share since Mo and Hammed went into partnership.

Sounds like he’s comparing Thatcher to Aphrodite. Which makes this whole thing even creepier. I hope people like this don’t end up writing history textbooks.

BTW, Ed, you meant “Why a lioness and not a lion?”

Lamest numerology ever to grace a nonsensical ramble. And I loved the bit where he uses a pen to point to unreadable text in a box superimposed over the background.

The Third Eagle of the Apocalypse

…because the first two eagles didn’t get it right?

And yeah, how can one be a “co-prophet”? Did God tell two or more people different pieces of a prophecy and tell them to just work together to make it make sense?

That would be a “leaglebearpard” which along with the crocoduck is proof of evolution.

Who’s the other co prophet and where’s the other two eagles?

By “comes out of the sea,” Tapley might mean that Thatcher arose from the proletariat. The same is true of Obama, if “proletariat” is taken to mean the lower classes, rather than the working class. Although even that broader definition is a stretch since Obama, IIRC, had a rich grandmother who made sure he got a good education.

  25. 25
    caseloweraz

Oh, wait — Tapley was referring to a Bible verse in Daniel? Never mind.

  26. 26
    matty1

Thatcher’s father was a shop owner and local councillor, I’d say that counts as middle class not proletariat.

    John Pieret

Well, here’s Tapley’s own [cough] explanation for his “titles”:

My title “Third Eagle of the Apocalypse” came to me when I asked God who was the “Eagle” as found in Revelation 8:13. He told me: “you are”. Now, I should explain, I do not hear voices, but sometimes God gives prophecy to me by a revelation which I know comes not from my own thoughts but outside my mind. My title “Co Prophet of the End Times” means that I complete the end times prophecies of Daniel, Ezekiel, Esther, John and even of our Lord in the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24-25).

Excuse me while I apply anti-boggle cream to my brain.

    Modest too.

Thatcher rose from the sea because of the lyrics to “Rule Britannia” is my guess.

When Britain first, at Heaven’s command
    Arose from out the azure main;
This was the charter of the land,
And guardian angels sang this strain:

Ah shit, I only wanted to post the link. How does one post the link to a Youtube video and not the video itself?

Matty1: “Thatcher’s father was a shop owner and local councillor, I’d say that counts as middle class not proletariat.”

Yes. I must have been thinking of someone else’s parents.

What works for me is to copy the link to the clipboard and paste it into the comment.

Thanks, I’ll try that next time. The pasting of the video instead of the link seems to be a WordPress problem as it is also the case on Jerry Coyne’s blog.

and if by “lower classes” you mean”her father was mayor of Grantham and a director of several companies.’
