Wingnut on Wingnut Crime: Wiles vs Luter

Remember a couple weeks ago when Fred Luter, the head of the Southern Baptist Convention, bizarrely agreed with Rick Wiles that North Korea’s threats toward the United States were tied to same-sex marriage? Luter recanted those remarks on CNN, after initially denying having said it (Anderson Cooper played the audio for him). Now Wiles is calling Luter a yellow-bellied coward.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper was talking about me last night on CNN, he had Southern Baptist President Fred Luter on CNN last night regarding my comments linking North Korea’s threats to nuke America to America’s slide into debauchery. Poor pastor Luter, he wilted under the heat of CNN’s cameras, he recanted what he said on TruNews. He tucked his tail between his legs like a frightened puppy; he made Joel Osteen look like the winner of the tough man contest. Where are the real men of God in this country? Have they all lost courage to speak for God when this nation is facing destruction? I promise you I will not recant, I will not bow, I will not run and I will now cower. Will you stand with me? We need your support now more than ever.

So send him money! He needs money! Apparently you have to be a “real man of God” to say mindnumingly idiotic bullshit. You don’t need brains, just the “courage to speak for God.”

Isn’t that pretty much par for the course when a deity is involved. All that cowering and bowing and I’m not worthy lord bullshit.

Can’t argue with that, of course.

    Wiles claims:

I promise you I will not recant, I will not bow, I will not run and I will now cower.

which is too bad, because he ought to be ashamed of the despicable, dishonest nonsense he spreads and do just that.

I like the way he implies the pusillanimity of Joel Osteen. I always knew that haircut was just a little too perfect.

the winner of the tough man contest.

What happens to the loser of the tough man contest? Do his penis and testicles vanish in a puff of smoke?

If not, then who the hell cares about the tough man contest?

    @Gretchen,

You’ll never know, because you’ll never get one of us men to admit to having lost a tough-man contest.

See, that’s been my problem. I’ve just been nice and kind when asking for money, and not asking for a lot. I need to be a raving, bigoted lunatic asking for enough to build a Star Destroyer.

So…either he lied then admitted it, or he told the truth before then lied. I don’t know what people look to in a moral leader, but I would hope that neither of those are it.
On the other hand, as long as he still hates the right people…

I got second place. I won a year’s supply of canned beans.

“If not, then who the hell cares about the tough man contest?”
    Who doesn’t love beans?

He will be silent as America’s enemies encircle this nation and see that our moral defense shield is down

Jeez! Why have we been spending trillions on all those ships, planes, tanks, nukes, etc., etc. if all we needed was god-sponsored moral defense shield?

The ‘courage to speak for god’ is a strong signal. Asking people to be rational instead of waving their pedipalps never seems to get anywhere.

Anderson Cooper did something all journalists should always do. And it’s not rocket science. None of Luter’s ilk can withstand evidence-based scrutiny. None.

And it’s not hard to prepare, conservative Christian talking points are pervasive, indefensible, and I think, cause increased human suffering.

Ummm, “now” cower? Humorous typo for “not”, right, Ed? Mistake is in the original transcript at RWW.

The rangers put out burning bushes before they turn into forest wildfires.
