Farah Worried About Roberts’ Gay Cousin

Joseph Farah is worried. Very worried. You see, Sen. Rob Portman changed his mind on marriage equality because he has a gay son and now — clutching pearls — it turns out that Chief Justice John Roberts has a gay cousin. Oh no! What if he thinks gay people are human beings with equal rights now?

Will Supreme Court Chief Justice Roberts disappoint conservatives again – this time on same-sex marriage?

The question is being raised by an opinion piece written by Roberts’ cousin, Jean Podrasky, 48, a lesbian activist. The piece appeared on the website of the National Council of Lesbian Rights. She will be sitting ringside in the courtroom as a guest of Roberts at two key hearings take place.

Roberts shocked Republicans and conservatives when he sided with the majority of flaming progressives on the court in upholding the constitutionality of Obamacare.

Could he do it again?

Will he pull a Rob Portman and support same-sex marriage because he’s got a homosexual relative?

Lather, rinse, repeat with every conservative in power with a gay relative. Which is most of them, probably. Oh bother.

ok that… yea that is the most impressive description of supreme court justices I have seen.

Huh. Was Farah as worried back in 2000 during Bush v Gore that some of the Republican justices had close relatives applying for jobs with what would become the future Bush Administration?

The way these wingnut minds work is a object lesson for Child psychology students…

The depth and cognitive manipulation and processing of the stimulus is pristine and perfect example of children’s cognitive processes.

For me, it’s a hope rather than a fear. But I was pretty discouraged after Roberts’ questions at the hearing.

So the Secretary of Education should be fired because he has children who are educated and he is in favour or tax-supported education?

I think we’ll have our answer when Justice Roberts enters the room wearing a fuschia robe with a rainbow emblem pinned on and carrying a bucket of glitter.

Nah, he’ll stick with the traditional black dress.

And Farah is still being comparatively moderate here, by wingnut standards. At Freerepublic they’ve already figured out that Roberts himself is gay, based on his gay cousin, the fact that he once represented some gay people pro bono and some utterly damning photographic evidence – to (nit)wit, a picture of him from the seventies or eighties with two male friends. They look happy, and one of the guy has a rather pornish looking moustache. Proof!

So that explains Citizens United. It turns out that Anthony Kennedy had a grandfather who was a corporation…

I fail to see how disapointing conservatives is a bad thing.
