Wingnut on Wingnut Crime: Tea Party vs Fox News

One of the amusing things about watching the far right is the endless schisms produced by zealotry. It’s a constant battle to prove who is and is not pure enough. The latest example is a Tea Party boycott of Fox News for its alleged left turn after the election. Because Sean Hannity is just not conservative enough for them.

Is Fox News going soft?

That is what a number of Tea Party activists are saying and they are organizing a boycott to protest the conservative station’s coverage, especially what they view as the network’s relative silence in investigating the attacks on a diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya.

Yeah, because if there’s one story Fox News just isn’t covering enough, it’s Benghazi.

“Particularly after the election, Fox keeps turning to the left,” said Stan Hjerlied, 75, of Fort Collins, Colo., and a participant in the boycott. He pointed to an interview Fox News CEO Roger Ailes gave after the election in which he said that the Republican Party and Fox News need to modernize, especially around immigration. “So we are really losing our only conservative network.”…

A leader of the boycott, Kathy Amidon, of Nashville, declined an interview, instead directing The Daily Beast to a website, Benghazi-Truth. The website, a single-page, 23,000-word manifesto complete with multicolored fonts, supposedly incriminating videos of Fox News’s complicity in a coverup, and communist propaganda photographs, is kept by someone who identifies himself online as “Proe Graphique,” and who other members of boycott described as someone who works “in New York media.”

By way of explanation, the website reports: “People ask why not all mainstream media? Why just Boycott FOX? The answer, again, is that FOX needs the Tea Party/conservatives more than the conservatives need FOX after FOX turned left, basically selling out the people who made FOX successful in an attempt to earn an extra buck. FOX is extremely vulnerable to these boycotts while the rest of the MSM doesn’t need us at all, to speak of.”

There’s actually a new network slated to start up this summer as the even more conservative alternative to Fox. Soon we’ll be hearing arguments over the Wingnuttia People’s Front vs the People’s Front of Wingnuttia.

If Fox news has turned left, I’m terrified to see the right.

I find this incredibly amusing. Yes indeed, in the eyes of the uber-Right zealots Fox News has become a Left-wing cable news outlet. So now they are boycotting it until it gets back to what they view as conservative again. Of course being “conservative” to them means believing that Obama is a Muslim, Communist, anti-White, pro-UN take-over, gay, Christ-hating, gun-grabbing Kenyan dictator.
I do wonder how far the tin-foil hat crowd plans to go. They are already talking about forming a 3rd party because the GOP is far too liberal for them. (Seriously!) And they are talking about creating their own ultra-Right cable network should Fox News not heed their demands. These people are batshit crazy and I think it is only a matter of time before they demand a “homeland” of their own. (I’d say let them have Texas or one of the other southern States.) They could then have the free-market theocracy that they crave. No minimum wage, no pollution controls, no worker rights, health care only of you can afford it, daily prayer sessions in schools and businesses every morning, women reduced to being stay-at-home breeding machines. Yeah it will be a “paradise.” A Christian Taliban government so to speak. Idiots.

Well, at least they’re no longer even pretending that Faux Noise is “fair and balanced”.

They had that already. It was called the Middle Ages. And look how well that worked out!

@Moggie: Nothing says “truth” like multi-coloured fonts. Obviously, you don’t see the brilliance of this approach because you don’t work “in New York media.”

    Benghazi??? Who cares.

Probably the current administration dropped the ball on Benghazi. Stuff happens and no one is perfect, not even the US government.

Compared to the Bush Catastrophe, it is a drop in a sea of blood and financial losses.

The Iraq war which consumed $2 trillion, 5,000 US lives, hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives, and accomplished nothing. A Great Recession, a stalled economy, high unemployment, and millions of dead 401(K) plans, one of which is mine.

FWIW, the Obama plan seems to be working. The US economy is recovering noticeably if not spectacularly. Unemployment is down to 7.7%, housing is recovering, the economy is growing slowly, the stock markets are setting new record highs, and so on. And he ended the Iraq war and is winding down the Afghanistan quagmire.

Really, if you compare Bush to Obama, Bush screwed everything up for a generation while Obama is cleaning up the mess. While all the Theopublicans have done is try to oppose the cleanup any way they can.

Considering that Billo the clown is heavily criticizing the defenders of Prop. 8 and DOMA for poor arguments before the SCOTUS, it is obvious that the liberals have taken over the fascist news channel. End snark.

That’s the problem with appealing to conspiracy theorists. Eventually, you’re part of the conspiracy.

That’s complete bullshit. If it wasn’t for FOX the Tea Baggers wouldn’t exist.

For amusement, I enjoy reading the wing-nuts’ comments in the opinion section of the San Antonio Express News. There are some real tea-party faithful nuts there. They were constantly linking to Faux News stories. Now, they are proclaiming Brietbart and the Blaze as the true sources for the news.
It’s fun to see them twist and turn to try to discredit what they used to swear was the truth.
BTW, I’ve read a bit at Fox News online. The writing level seems to be so simplistic and emotional.
But then, I realize the reading and emotional level of their readers, and it makes sense.

The Daily Beast: “The new network is a production of Herring Broadcasting, the San Diego-based company behind Wealth TV, a channel dedicated to appealing to and documenting the lifestyles of the rich and famous.”

Wealth TV, eh? No surprise there.
