Rush Limbaugh Hates America!
Rush Limbaugh, showing all of the moral myopia that afflicts not just the right wing but most Americans, says that the sequestration deal has, for the first time, made him ashamed of his country. Because of all the things our government has done, budget negotiations are the one thing that can cause him shame.
The prospect of sequestration has Rush Limbaugh making an eye-catching admission.
“Ladies and gentlemen, for the first time in my life, I am ashamed of my country,” Limbaugh told radio listeners today. “Seriously man, here we get worked up over $44 billion. That’s the total amount of money that will not be spent that was scheduled to be spent this year.”
Seriously? That’s what it takes to make Limbaugh ashamed of his country? He’s not the least bit bothered by the 2-3 million people we killed in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia? He wouldn’t think to stop waving his flag long enough to give a moment’s thought to our government’s installation of brutal dictators all over the world over the last century (Baptiste, Pinochet, Hussein, Pahlevi, Somoza, Noriega, Montt, Duarte and many more) and the untold numbers of people they tortured and killed. Centuries of slavery, hatred, discrimination and bigotry won’t give him a moment’s pause. But budget negotiations, that’s what makes him ashamed.
If a liberal said something like that, Fox News would be blaring “I am ashamed of my country” in a banner headline with a picture of the person who said it wearing a turban and strapped with explosives.

But but but… sputter… both sides are equally bad…

Well, both sides do have complicity in the aforementioned evil that this country has perpetrated.

Well, he probably not only was not ashamed, but cheered on the My Lai Massacre while sitting safely on his anal cyst 10,000 miles away from where that atrocity occurred.

I thought he was ashamed of his country when Clinton was elected back in 1992. Makes one wonder how many first times Rush has had.

If a liberal said something like that,
Or if a candidate’s wife implied that she had been ashamed…

Perhaps Fox can’t find a turban big enough for his head.

I call bullshit. I doubt very strongly that Rush knows what shame feels like, having clearly never experienced it.

I was going to make the argument that he probably did, when the oxycontin abuse scandal hit.
but really… you’re probably right.

you know, I thought it might be worth a look to see if Rush has actually used this “ashamed of you” rhetorical tactic before…
