Pam Geller Explains the American Crisis

The thoroughly unhinged Pam Geller is back with a new column at the Worldnutdaily explaining why Romney lost the election and what is wrong with America. Answer: Pretty much everything. And it’s all because of poor people who need help in the wake of the worst recession since the Great Depression. The column is even titled “The End of America.”

The United States of America was created as an independent nation whose founding ideal was the principle of individual rights. Freedom. Ayn Rand said that “freedom, in a political context, means freedom from government coercion.” America was the first moral government based on individual rights, the nation of the Enlightenment.

In this age of Obama, that ideal has been tossed aside for … “free stuff.”

Uh, right. Except Obama has not instituted any new social programs at all. George W. Bush did, with the Medicare prescription bill, but not Obama.

Rabbi Steven Pruzansky of Congregation Bnai Yeshurun in Teaneck, N.J., recently wrote an analysis of the 2012 presidential election that is the best thing I have read on Romney’s election loss and the broader question of the loss of America.

“It is a different world,” wrote Pruzansky, “and a different America. Obama is part of that different America, knows it, and knows how to tap into it. That is why he won.” What kind of different America? Pruzansky’s explanation is devastating: “Romney lost,” he writes, “because the conservative virtues – the traditional American virtues – of liberty, hard work, free enterprise, private initiative and aspirations to moral greatness – no longer inspire or animate a majority of the electorate. The notion of the ‘Reagan Democrat’ is one cliché that should be permanently retired. Ronald Reagan himself could not win an election in today’s America. The simplest reason why Romney lost was because it is impossible to compete against free stuff.”

It is impossible to compete against “free stuff.” As Pruzansky explains: “The adults among the 47,000,000 on food stamps clearly recognized for whom they should vote, and so they did, by the tens of millions; those who – courtesy of Obama – receive two full years of unemployment benefits (which, of course, both disincentivizes looking for work and also motivates people to work off the books while collecting their windfall) surely know for whom to vote; so too those who anticipate ‘free’ health care, who expect the government to pay their mortgages, who look for the government to give them jobs. The lure of free stuff is irresistible.”

Yeah, the increase in the number of people receiving food stamps couldn’t possibly be because the economy took a nose dive in 2008 and is very slowly recovering. It’s just because Obama is in office. In fact, the recession probably happened in response to the anticipation of Obama becoming president. Obama preemptively caused the housing crisis and the collapse of the entire world economy (it wasn’t just America; in fact, we’ve done better than most of the rest of the industrialized world over the last 4 years), probably using that same time machine George Soros used to go back and plant those fake birth announcements for Obama in two Hawaiian newspapers.

But this gets even more warped. Did you know that America is preparing to go after Jewish people just like Nazi Germany did?

And scarier still is the tenuous status of Jews in America. It’s hard not to draw parallels to persecuted Jews in once-friendly nations and their subsequent persecution, expulsion and slaughter. To think that Poland was once the Israel of Europe. Millions of Jews made Poland their home and had a long history there of over a thousand years. And in three short years … complete annihilation.

German Jews, meanwhile, were so very vested in the motherland they considered themselves Germans before Jews. They were war heroes for Germany in World War I.

How long do Jews have in Obama’s America? How long before we can’t walk down the street with a kippah or a Star of David?

Rationality is clearly not Geller’s strong suit. Paranoid raving clearly is.

Rationality is clearly not Geller’s strong suit.

A vast understatement. Ms. Geller is raving bonkers.

  2. matty1 says

liberty (unless you’re gay, muslim. atheist or a member of any other group we don’t like), hard work (by the proles while the job creators sit back and count their bonuses), free enterprise (supported by government subsidies), private initiative (again subsidies) and aspirations to moral greatness (or at least self righteous preening).

    Fixed

  3. tuxedocartman says

Soooo, let me get this straight: Jews in America are in danger, and their only hope is to throw in with the political party that sees nothing wrong with tearing down the separation between church and state, and establishing Jesus-anity as our official super-duper number one law? Why of course, it all makes sense now. Clearly that other party with their professed ideals of diversity and minority rights is just itchin to start building death-camps.

  4. says

How long do Jews have in Obama’s America? How long before we can’t walk down the street with a kippah or a Star of David?

Oh, come on, Pam Geller! He isn’t going to ban those. She knows darn well that Obama is going to force them to wear a Star of David! And they’ll go for it, too, because Americans now, apparently, love free stuff from the government!

  5. says

“…the traditional American virtues – of liberty, hard work, free enterprise, private initiative and aspirations to moral greatness – no longer inspire or animate a majority of the electorate.

And why might that be? Because people are starting to realize that those “traditional” “American” virtues are nothing but a golden-age myth reanimated as a scam.

There are still plenty of people aspiring to “moral greatness” and looking for an opportunity to profit from hard work — they’re the ones Pam Gellar is accusing of wanting “free stuff.”

  6. Randomfactor says

Ronald Reagan himself could not win an election in today’s America

    Because he’s not right-wing-nutty enough.

  7. thisisaturingtest says

It’s hard not to draw parallels to persecuted Jews in once-friendly nations and their subsequent persecution, expulsion and slaughter.

Easy to do, though, when you don’t actually give any examples of those “parallels,” isn’t it? I went to the WND article by Geller, and the only thing close to a “parallel” was this:

Proud Jews at Berkeley or the University of California Irvine can give you a glimpse of how things can turn, quickly, in America as well.

Apparently, at those schools, Muslim groups were (GASP!!!) allowed to speak without interference by the school authorities. That’s it. That’s just like “complete annihilation” of Jews in Germany, I suppose, when your standpoint is that it’s the Muslims who need annihilating.

  8. ottod says

Is it Obama’s fault that FTB has been infested with gremlins that cause random format shifts when I expand the posts? If it is, it’s just one more disappointment I wasn’t expecting.

  9. John Hinkle says

Jeez, this “free stuff” meme has been going on since Romney’s 47% quip, and probably earlier. I mean, if you’re going to write a column a for cartoon outlet, at least make up some new animated bullshit.

And Jews… persecution… Poland… Jews … Germany… Jews… and ZOMG how long before Obama stomps on American Jews?!?

That’s not jumping to a conclusion. That’s an Evel-Knievel-over-the-Snake-River-canyon conclusion, with the same amount of success.

  10. gshelley says

Ronald Reagan himself could not win an election in today’s America.

others have said as much, but this is probably true, but not for the reason the nuts thinkg

  11. Didaktylos says

I think what they really mean is that Ronald Reagan couldn’t win a GOP Primary in today’s America …

  12. says

Jeez, this “free stuff” meme has been going on since Romney’s 47% quip, and probably earlier.

MUCH earlier — like probably all the way back to the abolition of slavery: “What, you don’t want them n****rs to work for their keep anymore? We all gotta give ‘em free stuff now?! That’s crazy talk! They’ll all be looting our houses and raping our daughters! That’s contrary to the Natural Order of Things!!”

    See also “Welfare Queen.”

  13. dugglebogey says

Anyone that’s ever received unemployment after having a decent job knows that unemployment is NOT EVEN CLOSE to an incentive not to find a job, it’s barely enough to keep you going so you don’t have to take a crappy alternative and be under-employed.

I hate people who attempt to comment on how it is in “the real world” when they don’t live in it.

  14. says

    John Hinkle @10:

Pam forgot to include two assumtptions inner thesis:

    1. Obama is a secret Muslim.

    2. All Muslims want to annihilate the Jews.

These are considered self-evident truths at WND, so Pam probably didn’t think it necessary to being up.
But, once you incorporate these two thoughts into her insanity, the jump across the canyon doesn’t seem that big.

  15. Doug Little says

the traditional American virtues – of liberty, hard work, free enterprise, private initiative and aspirations to moral greatness** – no longer inspire or animate a majority of the electorate.

** Replace with – white middle aged evangelicals reminiscing about the good old days, when women, racial minorities and gays knew their place, STFU and didn’t get all uppity about equal rights.

  16. revjimbob says

“How long before we can’t walk down the street with a kippah or a Star of David?”
The Nazis didn’t prevent Jews wearing the Star of David – they insisted on it.

  17. sinned34 says

Welfare grants people just enough money so that they aren’t desperate enough to take the jobs that pay so little for backbreaking labour that only the illegal immigrants will take the work.

That’s why it’s bad – it makes these pathetic proles think they’re worth more than they actually are. Why, if Pam Geller lost her job, she’d be out in the fields picking vegetables for a buck a bushel in no time, because she’s such a patriotic American!

  18. D. C. Sessions says

The United States of America was created as an independent nation whose founding ideal was the principle of individual rights.

That’s why our Constitution was founded with the individual as the basic element of government. For instance, we elect the President and Senators by popular vote instead of some hokey arrangement involving political subdivisions that lump everyone in them together.

Freedom. Ayn Rand said that “freedom, in a political context, means freedom from government coercion.”

Quite right. The very origin of our Constitution was that the Articles of Confederation imposed an unacceptable degree of control by the central government.

  19. says

The United States of America was created as an independent nation whose founding ideal was the principle of individual rights. Freedom.

Well, except for that bit about slavery. And about a thousand other things…

  20. says

“How long do Jews have in Obama’s America?”

Since 70% of them just voted for him, the correct answer is “four more years”.

  21. says

It is impossible to compete against “free stuff.” As Pruzansky explains: “The adults among the 47,000,000 on food stamps clearly recognized for whom they should vote, and so they did…

Top twelve states for percentage of food stamp recipients:

    1. Mississippi
    2. Oregon
    3. Tennessee
    4. New Mexico
    5. Michigan
    6. Louisiana
    7. Kentucky
    8. West Virginia
    9. Maine
    10. South Carolina
    11. Alabama
    12. Georgia

Eight of those twelve voted for Romney… the Food Stamp Candidate.

  22. dan4 says

    “…disincentivizes looking for work….”

“look for the government to give them jobs…”

If the unemployment benefits the Rabbi mentioned are so generous that it “disincentivizes” the receiver of them fror “looking for work,” why would said beneficiary be looking for anyone “to give them jobs?”

  23. says

“Freedom. Ayn Rand said that “freedom, in a political context, means freedom from government coercion.”

Actually, that’s closer to a description of freedom in the context of an emotionally-brittle, chain-smoking, speed-addicted, narcissistic woman from Russia who required constant ass-kissing that could only be supplied by much younger and less experienced people while her defeated husband drank himself to death.

  24. dingojack says

Meanwhile, here, the minister for ‘human services’* , announcing a plan to shoe-horn single parents onto the dole queue, said she could live on the dole (and then tried to cover-up the fact).
The response was ‘Yeah, Jenny? Ya really think you can live on $35 a day do you? Try it.
Donate 24/25th of your generous weekly salary to charity and see how you go paying rent (say $25), food (say $5) and saving for shockingly high utility bills (say $3) and contingencies (say $??).**
What will you do with the whole $10 (if you’re lucky) you’ve got left over at the end of the week? Paaartyyyy, no doubt’.
Living on the dole isn’t living, as these chicken-hawks think, it’s barely surviving.

  25. caseloweraz says

“It’s hard not to draw parallels to persecuted Jews in once-friendly nations and their subsequent persecution, expulsion and slaughter.”

Indeed, for these people it seems impossible to avoid making that parallel. I guess that’s because there’s no basis for such parallels; they are fact-free, and the lure of fact-free stuff is irresistible.

  26. bobaho says

The gold is in the comments to that post. To wit, one Alexander Gofen writes:

But America turned into a de-facto totalitarian nation, were the facts and the truth do not matter any more, and the Justice is dead. Watch the last part of the judicial marathon … where the unparalleled Dr. Taitz … will bring the evidence of Obama’s total fraudulence … of the ugly farce of the last (and previous) “elections”.

Wow, just wow. When confronted with white hot stupid of that magnitude, one can only wonder how does the man know how to breathe. And Dr. Taitz remains unparalleled because Alexander doesn’t appear to practice law.
