Violently Removing God From Schools

Operation Save America is one of the most extreme of all the far-right Christian groups in the United States, so it’s not at all surprising to hear them react to the recent school shootings with some of the most outlandish and ridiculous rhetoric:

Watching the Memorial service for the twenty-six precious lives taken from us was painful to say the least, but it was far more painful to the God who made America great. Newtown cancelled Christmas so it could properly mourn. How foolish, yet typical of governmental strategy to replace God. The “Interfaith” service was an affront to Almighty God. Those claiming to be His priests barely mentioned His Name –Jesus! After all, He is the only God there is!

If one of those 20 kids had grown up to be gay, as is statistically likely, I doubt they would be so precious all of a sudden.

What happened? We violently removed the fear of Almighty God from the hearts of our children. We expelled God from school and banished Him from the schoolyard. He was replaced with metal detectors, condoms, policemen, anti-bullying policies, No-gun zones, and violence of unprecedented order. Our strategy has replaced God’s Truth. We are losing our kids because we are ignoring God’s Law.

We violently removed God? Really? And if you’re looking for violence of unprecedented order, the Bible is a good place to look.

Of course, the fact that 2 of the students were non-Christians is of no moment to these bigots. Fucke em,.

    Oh gee.

Is god that weak that a few humans can expell and banish him? Poor guy must be near death by now.

Sounds like he is about to join Thor, Odin, Zeus, Ahura Mazda, and a few thousand other gods.

Damn those violent anti-bullying policies! If you deny Christians their God-given right to peacefully bully kids to death, you’ve got to expect murder!

Moggie, you beat me to the anti-bullying subject, but you said it better than me. They are freakin nuts.

That crazy old God, getting dragged out of school by security, kicking and raving, “I’ll smite you! I’ll smite all of you!”

Maybe it’s time we sent him to the Old Gods Home, where he can get the care he clearly needs.

If their god wants to complain about the way his children are treated, he needs to start paying his child support.

They must have had chariots of iron. Judges 1:19.

Wow, that second quote sounds like they’d have schools – and all of society – in tip top shape with God’s law. I assume that includes stoning the various miscreants for virginity violations, people lying with people of the wrong sex, sowing 2 different seeds in one field, eating shrimp, wearing mixed fiber clothing, touching an elevator button on the Sabbath, etc. Sounds like paradise.

Yes because it’s the fear of eternal punishment from something almighty that keeps us all on the straight and narrow. Could you come up with a more authoritarian thing to say? WTF.

    “anti-bullying policies”
    Oh, the humanity.

    Huh?

dan4, for “Newtown cancelled Christmas” read “Newtown allowed Jews and Muslims into their interfaith service of mourning, without stoning them to death”. These bastards want to own the mourning process, and want it to be about coming to Jesus through fear and hate.

And chances are these clowns are rural or southern and haven’t a clue about what it would be like to be a minority sect, which would be the case in that region. That kind of evangelical preening doesn’t go over well.

From the reference to “No-gun zones,” I’m assuming these folks are in favor of getting god back into the schools, and the “unprecedented” violence out, by putting guns in the schools. No contradiction there, right? But, if they’re thinking of arming the teachers, they’ll have to deal with the howls of outrage from Judson Phillips and the TeaParty Nation- according to him:

If you want to pin blame on Sandy Hook, blame the Teachers Unions that have championed schools being gun free zones. While the left is demonizing the NRA and moronic actors like Marg Helgenberger are calling for NRA members to be shot, the Teachers Union is actually the focus of evil in the pre and post Sandy Hook world.

What about the Father and the Holy Spirit? Can’t these people even get their Christian theology right?

Of course not! If you would go on and properly install the “fear of Almighty God [in] the hearts of our children”, none of these evil evil deeds would ever be done.

Haven’t you heard? No Real Christian would ever do something wrong! Never, ever, nowhere! In a Real Christian Society, where all would tremble in Fear of the Smiting God, no evil would ever happen!

The only tinsy little flaw in this concept: it seems there are no Real Christians. What a pity!

I’d heard there was one Jewish student (apparently named Noah Pozner). Anyone know what variety the other non-Christian was?
