I wish I’d thought of this. A few months ago Ted Nugent declared that if Obama was reelected, by that time a year later, he’d be either dead or in jail. I’m not sure he gets enough credit for his get out the vote effort on behalf of the Obama campaign. And whoever came up with the Ted Nugent countdown clock, that’s genius.

Nugent left out a viable third option: institutionalized in an asylum.

I like how the guy suggests Ted Nugent made that claim to get out the vote for Obama.

I was thinking that Ted would have a lot of trouble counting backwards. Then I realized what this must be about…

He’ll probably just soil himself for a week and stop bathing for a month before the deadline to get out of it.

“Do the right thing Ted”
LOL. The snark is strong in this one.

Completely off-topic, and I apologize (but that’s why I chose a “lighter” post):
You know what would be absolutely awesome, Ed? If we users had a way to customize the front page of FTB, to either move our favorite blogs up to the top of the list, or block out the ones we don’t want to see. I only read half a dozen blogs here, and scrolling down through the dramas – and that’s what many have become – is tedious and wearing.
Would either solution be possible? I’d prefer the former, so new blogs aren’t missed due to not being added automatically, and because every once in a while the other blogs do contain something worthwhile.

The front page will be changing relatively soon. The second phase of the redesign will be a total change in how the front page looks. We’ll be using categories instead of an entry for each and every blog and the most recent 5 posts or so from each category will be listed.

Given Nugent’s past behavior and apparent mental instability, I’d say it’s quite possible he will be dead or in jail within a year.
Just not because of any action of Obama’s.

iangould, assuming his knowledge of guns is astute as his knowledge of politics, a self-inflicted mortal bullet wound is probably at least a 50-50 bet.
However, even if that feat were captured on film the wingnuts would claim Obama caused it. You know, using his secret Negro mind-control rays to cause the Nuge to erase his own map.

Ed – thanks! That should be terrific!
One more off-topic: I’m having a bit of trouble with my login. Who can I contact to get things straightened out?

Given his attended toward hunting endangered species, I think being mauled by a polar bear would be a nice, poetic way for Ted to check out.

Nugent’s always struck me as more of a bullshitter than a truly mentally ill person. His statement about being dead within a year was likely just another bit of bullshit. No-one should be surprised when he fails to die as promised.

Why aren’t we allowed to place bets on the day, hour, minute with half the proceeds going to charity and the other half going to the win(ners)?

I noticed his statement (threat? promise?) doesn’t say how or why he would be dead/in jail. So if he commits a crime or commits suscide the statement would be true and it would unfairly be linked to the President.

Jeez, guy, don’t the polar bears already have ENOUGH trauma without havin’ PTSD*?

We should start a sweep.
Put me down for “in jail, statutory rape and drug possession.”
Because Ted’s such a fine exemplar of “traditional values”.

Except how he managed to stay out of Vietnam, which was totally good for a gun lover.

At the great risk of sounding like an asshole…..Anybody that sings that many songs about nothing but pussy is probably insecure about the size of his dick.

April twelfth, eh? Gee, that’s just one day past my birthday. Hey, close enough to call it a gift!
Ted is one of those people who are entirely over represented in the general population. Who really don’t have anything useful to say but really love the noise they make when they say it.
Like tits on a boar hog they serve no practical purpose but do remind others that some things are just relics of evolution. That we are stuck with them incidental. That we can laugh at or dismiss them is a privilege as well as a sign of further evolution.
