Sen. Jim DeMint, who is leaving the Senate to become the president of the Heritage Foundation, went on Glenn Beck’s show and they had a little wingnut bromance. Beck says he’s ready to work with DeMint, who actually says that Beck has “brought a softer touch” to conservatism. Uh, crying for no reason while making batshit crazy claims about everyone he disagrees with being the second coming of Hitler isn’t a “softer touch,” it’s just being touched in the head.

One wonders why conservatives constantly have to try to lay claim to being “compassionate” or “softer”. Could it be because they themselves recognize that much of conservativism is not compassionate, damages others, and is otherwise populated by a bunch of “hard” assholes?

I can feel the compassion inherent in their callous disregard for everyone else’s wellbeing.

Beck will need DeMint’s help as God has commissioned Glen Beck to fix the world. IIRC that was on a Right Wing Watch segment last week.

yes, that is indeed Mabus again.
there is little doubt, given the specific vid he was referring to.
I actually feel pity towards Mabus, and outrage against the Montreal justice system that has done so poorly in managing this case.

To be fair, Beck is soft in the head, so maybe that’s what DeMint meant when he said “a softer touch.”

Yep, looks like our Canadian Friend was released once again. He made an identical troll over on PZ Myer’s neck of the woods.

Which part was the “softer touch” to conservatism: The time he joked about poisoning Nancy Pelosi or when he pretended to douse a producer with gasoline and light him on fire?

Wait, Greece’s problem was being run by Democrats? Uh? The US democratic party is further right than most right-wing parties this side of the pond.. And the centre-right party in Greece is actually called New Democracy.
