Ashley Attracts Dumbest Commenter Ever

Ashley Miller’s post about her father disowning her because she’s dating a black man has justifiably gotten a lot of attention, but it has also attracted two of the dumbest commenters in human history to spew racist bullshit. The first is a guy named Larry, but I’ll ignore him for now to talk about the second guy, who goes by the name leretseh. His comment is to utterly moronic that I thought it might be a Poe, but since he has a blog full of the same crap, that’s unlikely. So let’s get started.

Larry, in spite of your claimed high IQ, I can’t believe you would fall for this tall-tail by little miss “smart-ass.” You claimed you read her bio. She’s a feminist, an atheist and , ergo, a socialist democrat. NEVER engage these people. NEVER do it. They lie at the drop of a hat. They will do anything unethical, even criminal, if they believe it will further their warped ideology. Their ideology drives them. Nothing else. Miss “smart-ass” is most likely making up this entire, or most of, what she writes in this anecdote. And you fell for it. Her major objective here is to SLAM her dad – the “southern conservative.”

Ah yes, a particularly stupid version of the argumentum ad labelum. And here’s his “evidence” for why Ashley is lying:

1) “Smart-ass” claims she has a black boyfriend. Well, where’s the picture of them smiling cheek to cheek? What a pic that be! This blog begs for that pic, yet it’s not prominently displayed at the top. Where is it? Well, it’s not there because “smart-ass” doesn’t have a black boyfriend (I explain why at the end of this post).

This is an idiotic argument to begin with, of course, but it’s also based on a false premise. If you’ve got Ashley on your Facebook, you’ve probably already seen pictures of her with her boyfriend. But he’s just getting warmed up.

2) “Smart-ass” implies she brought her black boyfriend over to surprise her family members for Thanksgiving. Yeah sure. Like he would be a willing party to THAT! Think about it. Also, “smart-ass” claims her Thanksgiving is celebrated by her dad, his wife and his ex-wife (smart-ass’ mom) …all present together? Wife and ex-wife at the SAME festivity? Doesn’t happen people.

Except A) she didn’t say that and B) it does happen. My divorced parents were together for many dinners.

3) “Smart-ass” claims she’s cut off from her dad,. Well if that’s the case, who’s paying for her graduate studies?

Seriously? He’s that fucking stupid? Yep, he is.

4) “Smart-ass” claims that a “mutual friend introduced us” and it was a “long distance” thing. Oh yeah, now THAT sounds believable.

Uh, yeah. It does. Because I’ve actually been in such a relationship. Apparently, since this guy has never left Mayberry, he can’t imagine that people can have friends in other places.

5) No one with the professed beliefs of little miss “smart-ass” could acquire a boyfriend. Smart-ass’ beliefs and a boyfriend is like merging matter with anti-matter – KABOOM! Won’t work. Feminist are incapable of emotions or love. They are hate-filled women whom every male in his right mind would turn his back on.

Oh, of course. Because every man is as stupid as he is, so it’s inconceivable that any man could possibly date a feminist. And the fact that there are millions of feminists married to men does not, in any way, disprove his theory.

I guess it’s never occurred to him that men can also be feminists, and proud of it as well.

  3. Sastra:

The commenter is dumb for all the reasons you say, of course — but what really takes the Grand Prize is that he apparently thought he could get away with making easily falsifiable claims in a blog filled with people eager to disagree with him and go looking for evidence to disprove him.

Self-preservation alone ought to temper such recklessness. He ought to know that this sort of “proof-by-speculation” is best done in echo chamber forums — and never around people who pride themselves on their skeptical acuity and ability to investigate.

  4. Ashley F. Miller:

But how does someone just pay for graduate school if their father isn’t doing it. //Mitt Romney logic.

  5. tommykey:

There was another dumbass commenter who berated Ashley because blacks hate whites and why would she date a man who hates her.

  6. gshelley:

I had the misfortune of following the link to his blog. That is some seriously unpleasant racism
And my wife’s ex-husband was at ours for thanksgiving this year. He even babysits for us sometimes.

  7. Raging Bee:

Feminist are incapable of emotions or love. They are hate-filled women…

Actually, a good many of the women who hate men most aren’t feminists, they’re traiditional women who depend (or at least think they have to depend) on their men to fulfill certain roles, and get hateful and resentful when said men don’t fulfill the said roles. So yeah, there’s hateful feminists, but there’s also plenty of man-hate from non-feminist women too.

In any case, this guy is a ridiculous hateful loser, desperately trolling for any attention he can get (that’s why he comments on blogs where he can be loudly ridiculed). And quite frankly, the only appropriate response is to quietly ban him, just as one would block an obscene phone caller. “Free speech” and “unconstrained exchange of ideas” does not mean letting ignorant scum piss all over your blog.

“Feminist are incapable of emotions or love. They are hate-filled women whom every male in his right mind would turn his back on.”

Feminists are not really that way – that’s just part of the class excercises in the curriculum they have to take to get their Lesbian Witch Certification. Really! Pat Robertson told me so!

  10. bridgetgaudette:

I can’t even figure out WHY a person would lie about being disowned because of an interracial relationship. It doesn’t even make sense. What would it accomplish?

Ashley is a yucky feminist, atheist, democrat though. Beware!!!

  11. DaveL:

White female grad student has a black boyfriend? Not credible.

There’s an infinite being who was born of a virgin in 1st century Palestine, then got killed and then resurrected so that a special undetectable part of you can go to a magic paradise after you die? Totally credible.

  12. usingreason:

Damn it, I clicked on that link to his blog and now I feel dirty. That is some fucked up thinking, or lack of thinking; definitely one of those.

  13. quixote:

The sin the bad guys accuse you of – it’s what they’re doing now.

Funny, yesterday was the 74th anniversary of the birth of the man-hating feminist that somehow managed to give birth to both my sister and me, all the while being married to an actual man for nearly 35 years – a relationship that only ended with her death in 1997. Not only did my Dad not turn his back on her (ok, there was a brief separation in the early 70s, but it was the 70s people), but he was actually content with making less money than her, even while working two jobs. I guess that makes my former football player/father a real wuss, huh?

Strange, I meet my father-in-laws ex-wife all the time, almost every thanksgiving, and with him I was a pall-bearer at her mothers funeral.

    3) “Smart-ass” claims she’s cut off from her dad,. Well if that’s the case, who’s paying for her graduate studies?

What’s hilarious about this is that in leretseh’s final paragraph, he says he doesn’t doubt that Ashley’s been cut off from her father, and that he’d do the same thing.

Why, it’s almost like coherence and internal consistency is irrelevant to these hateful shitbags.

  19. Spanish Inquisitor:

Some people choose to live in a hermetically-sealed bubble reality, then extrapolate that bubble to their perception of the outside world, and when the outside world doesn’t comport with their perception of it, well…the outside world is lying.

    Kinda like Fox-viewing Republicans…

  20. Ichthyic:

    4) “Smart-ass” claims that a “mutual friend introduced us” and it was a “long distance” thing. Oh yeah, now THAT sounds believable.

I met my current partner of 4 years online at Pharyngula 6 years ago.

I was living in CA, she in NZ.

    Now I live in NZ.

not only does it happen, it’s common.

  21. Ichthyic:

If you choose to examine this clown’s blog, it’s quite clear how his mind works:

    preconception.
cherry pick evidence to support preconception.
    done.

it’s always amazing to me that people can actually think like that and still actually do things like work with others.

but then again, maybe he doesn’t.

  22. Taz:

Feminists are incapable of emotions or love.

Except for every seven years when they experience pon farr.

  23. slc1:

Ms. Miller did take my suggestion and gave Larry the lout the heave ho.

  24. scienceavenger:

I had thanksgiving with my wife’s ex, see him all the time, calls me his husband-in-law. I’m also an atheist, surely a feminist, at least by this guy’s standards, but definitely NOT a socialist democrat.

I guess I must be lying. Damn!

  25. D. C. Sessions:

Because I’ve actually been in such a relationship.

Correct me if I’m mistaken, Ed, but isn’t your brother in one now? (And BTW has has good taste in women.)

  26. Ichthyic:

Ms. Miller did take my suggestion and gave Larry the lout the heave ho

you certainly weren’t the only one to suggest it.

  27. D. C. Sessions:

It’s like someone squeezed a zit and pure rage/hate spewed out.

You’re far too kind. Right now my tomcat has a fight abscess the size of an egg yolk. When it ruptures, it won’t be nearly as putrid as that cess.

  28. slc1:

    Re Ichthyic @ #26

Certainly true. However, it should be noted that her banning statement came in reply to my suggestion, which was seconded by Mr. Ichthyic. I would also point out that her first inclination was to let Larry the lout make an ass of himself, which he was certainly doing to a fairthewell.

  29. John Hinkle:

    Think about it.

leretseh, leretseh, reptilian reflexes require more thought than you’re asking of us.

  30. John Horstman:

Except A) she didn’t say that and B) it does happen. My divorced parents were together for many dinners. [Ed]

Yeah, my (divorced) parents still both come to many family holiday celebrations. They don’t loathe each other, and it’s way easier than trying to get EVERYBODY else to do a separate gathering for each of them. WTF?

“Smart-ass” claims she’s cut off from her dad,. Well if that’s the case, who’s paying for her graduate studies? [moronic bigoted commenter]

Huh? For people with full assistantships, graduate school is/can be better than free (yay small stipend!). Even for those without, non-parental loan programs and scholarships exist, as does regular old employment, the kind dad would presumably be using to get the cash to pay for his daughter’s school…

Feminist are incapable of emotions or love. They are hate-filled women whom every male in his right mind would turn his back on. [moronic bigoted commenter]

Hmm, as a class, I’d say anti-feminists (including the MRAs themselves) exhibit far more misandry than even the radical lesbian separatists. They seem to think all of us men are incapable of empathy, slaves to our sex drives, incapable of caring for ourselves or children, all hateful misogynists, etc. I take offense at their characterization of men, as it’s really only one step above their characterization of women. Feminists, on the other hand, tend to think men are capable of so much more, and thus we demand that men live up to some greater part of that potential.

Also, once again, what’s up with dropping the plural from the noun-form use of “feminist”? I see this with “atheists” a lot too – it written as “atheist” without the “s”. Do all of these people just not understand making nouns plural or what? Good call Ed: this may, in fact, be the dumbest comment ever.

  31. erick:

Maybe this is too obvious to point out, but
“Feminist are incapable of emotions or love. They are hate-filled women”

    Isn’t hate an emotion?

  32. F [disappearing]:

Incredible. Just how stupid can one be? No logic, and assumptions heaped upon assumptions and treated as facts.

    -500 internets.

  33. Justin Griffith:

That was awful. Considering the content, I’m actually surprised by the relatively good grammar and spelling. It’s so hard to accept that it wasn’t simply a troll, but yeah… the blog.

    Sorry Ashley.

  34. F [disappearing]:

    bridgetgaudette

Yeah, I forgot that angle by the end of the post. Exactly what goal is there for the purported lies and machinations of Ashley in this case?

I suspect, as with the rest of the illogic from this dood and elsewhere, that it doesn’t matter. People like him just Say Shit™. It’s like projection of their own unexamined behaviors of which they are subconsciously aware, so they leak out. People can be completely self-damning while they imagine they are being righteous, and can’t see it even when pointed out.
    Fuel → Projection → Denial → Exhaust.

  35. lancifer:

I went to the trolls blog.

The first thread was a list of white woman killed/raped/mutilated etc. by black husbands/boyfriends.

1.) What kind of person tracks that kind of information?

2.) Does he suppose a list of white women killed/raped/mutilated etc. by their white husbands/boyfriends would be any shorter?

    What a racist tool.

Probably had a girlfriend once and she found an actual decent person to replace him that happened to be black.

Oh, and he is probably self-conscious about his small penis.

He should be more ashamed of his small brain.

  36. david:

“Apparently, since this guy has never left Mayberry…”

Not fair to the people of North Carolina. Mt Airy is a lovely place, filled with reasonably intelligent and kind people.

  37. Buzz Saw:

“Smart-ass” implies she brought her black boyfriend over to surprise her family members for Thanksgiving. Yeah sure. Like he would be a willing party to THAT!

Ummm….that’s when I met my now wife’s family. (We had only been dating for a couple weeks at the time.) I’ll admit I felt a little awkward, but it did happen, which is the relevant part.

  38. democommie:

I don’t know if it’s the same guy, but this:

is, well; if all of the dumbfucks in dumbfuckistan stuck their heads up each others’ asses in an enormous daisy chain of teh Burnin’ Stoopit, it woud be, compared to this, a sparkler compared to the bombardment of Iwo Jima by the U.S. Fleet.

  39. pough:

Feminist are incapable of emotions or love. They are hate-filled women whom every male in his right mind would turn his back on.

At first this confused me because I had always thought of hate as an emotion. Then I noticed that he had also referred to love as also not being an emotion. So maybe it was a typo and he meant “lotions for love”. In which case he probably also meant to say that every male in his right mind would never turn his back on them. Some loves need the lotion.

  40. left0ver1under:

Because every man is as stupid as he is, so it’s inconceivable that any man could possibly date a feminist. And the fact that there are millions of feminists married to men does not, in any way, disprove his theory.

“leretseh” sounds like another George Sodini, frustrated that women won’t date him at all, and he can’t fathom that the problem might be him. A lot of the anti-woman rhetoric I’ve seen come from pent up and frustrated 30/15 males (30 years old chronologically, 15 years old in chronic immaturity).

  41. Amphiox:

but what really takes the Grand Prize is that he apparently thought he could get away with making easily falsifiable claims in a blog filled with people eager to disagree with him and go looking for evidence to disprove him.

Well, it is hard to anticipate that others could go and find evidence when one evidently hasn’t the faintest clue about what the word “evidence” means….

  42. TCC:

At Thanksgiving, my wife’s aunt and her ex-husband were both at the family get-together – along with her girlfriend and her girlfriend’s son. It wasn’t even awkward. So yeah, that point is definitely false, albeit not as absurd as a lot of his other claims.

  43. Freodin:

All of you who commented here: you have my admiration! I tried to make up some sensible comment to counter this… drivel, but with every line I read I felt the stoopid overwhelm me.
