Fischer: Hispanic People are Socialists

Bryan Fischer went on one of his usual idiotic and racist rants, this time aimed at immigrants. He says the real reason we vote Democratic is because they are all socialists — and that’s why we need to keep them out, so Republicans will win elections. Way to tar an entire race of people with no evidence whatsoever, Bryan.

I’d like to think that overt racism like this might finally force Fischer out of the conservative movement, but let’s face it – this isn’t the worst thing he’s ever said. If coming out as an HIV/AIDS denier didn’t do it, then I’m not sure what will.

Here’s the thing: for people like Fischer, socialism = communism, the end. Worse, it’s “sneaky,” pretending to be moderate in order to subvert the system until it can manage a full-out communist coup. As our good friends at Bob Jones University like to say during their educational film series, “Socialism is a halfway house to communism!”

What’s that, you say? The people who run Bob Jones are also complete and utter racists who barely manage to conceal it? Hmm… If I didn’t know any better, I’d wonder if there’s a pattern here.

Way to alienate an entire demographic group while the traditional base of your own party continues to become an ever smaller part of the electorate.

Did he say all hispanics come from Mexico, which is a socialist country, so the people want goodies?

Mexico has less in the way of social services than the US, actually. They do have a nationalized oil and railroad industry, but that hardly seems to be what he’s talking about.

The fact that there are about 2 dozen other countries in Latin America seems to have escaped him. Also, what’s up with the plunder? I take it he isn’t plundering the wealth of the US by doing a job and getting paid for it.

…and that’s why we need to keep them out….

Uh, if they are already voting in our elections, then it’s too late to “keep them out.”

“Hipanic people are socialists.” That explains why we have an ultra conservative, anti-abortionist, anti-equal rights, Catholic bigot as a prime minister here in Spain.

I keep wondering about this Republican hatred of immigrants.

    Hey, Republicans:

Do you really want to keep the immigrants out?

Well, here’s how to do it. Persuade all of your Republican buddies to stop using immigrants as cheap labor. If you stop offering them jobs, there will be far fewer immigrants.

Actually, we have socialism already — for rich people.

Think about it. They own the means of production, they get to take part in government decisions and have their voices heard. On major policy questions they get the biggest vote. And their health care needs, debts, housing — all government-guaranteed. I can be a CEO of a fortune 500 company, and run it into the ground, and I will never, ever pay any price whatsoever for that failure — I am free to follow my inclinations personally and professionally without coercion of any sort.

CEOs get collective bargaining rights too — such as grievance procedures and appeals. And compensation for wrongful dismissal.

Apparently Fischer never talks to any actual evangelists. Protestantism has gained considerable market share in Latin America over the last 40 years, and a good hunk of those converts have gone to faiths like Pentecostalims. You know, the Christian denominations whose membership is most ameniable to ideas like abotion being unacceptable and gay people being icky.

I don’t get it. Thanks to socialism when my parents divorced, my mother with a low income job(nurse) could take care of three children and never had to worry about loosing the house if we or she got sick, never have to worry about us getting a good education due to her low income, never have to worry about putting food on the table, never have to worry about having more than ONE job, never have to work more than 40 hours a week, and each summer she had one month paid vacation which we spent each day on the beach and is something I remember and value dearly to this day.

    Yes.

To the scumbags, that’s the PROBLEM.

I’m not convinced that they’d even think of the Spanish as ‘Hispanic’. ‘Hispanic’, after all, means ‘people who sometimes almost look white enough to pass, but are speaking a foreign language right on our doorstep’. Spain, by contrast, is just another part of irrelevant Europe, am I right?
