Dobson Endorses Theocrat Moore in Alabama

James Dobson is giving an enthusiastic endorsement to unabashed theocrat Roy Moore, who is once again running for his old seat on the Alabama Supreme Court. And I mean enthusiastic. He’s practically gushing about what a wonderful person and judge Moore is:

Moore, a Republican and former chief justice, on Monday announced the endorsement of Focus on the Family founder James Dobson, a leading evangelical.

“I have known this man for many years and admire him for his integrity, wisdom and knowledge of the law,” Dobson said in the statement released by Moore’s campaign…

Dobson, now the host of “Family Talk,” said as a private individual, he “highly” recommends Moore with “enthusiasm and confidence.”

Bear in mind that this is a judge who has actually said in a court ruling involving a lesbian mother, when her sexual orientation wasn’t at issue at all in the case, that gays should be imprisoned or put to death because the Bible says so.

I suspect that Dobson would A OK with that.

No offense but is this supposed to be a surprise?

Mr. Dobson is highly influential within conservative Christianity for advocating parents abuse their children, physically yes but far more damaging is the mental abuse he’s long promoted. I know people who were directly victimized by parents who read his books and took his advice. Even those conservative Christian parents who didn’t read his books or listen to his radio show frequently had their respective church’s authority figures promoting Dobson’s advice. These titles from this books should send shudders down a humanist’s spine if you’re aware of even an inkling of the evil contained within his books which is perpetuated upon children and wives, like this list at Amazon: http://goo.gl/jCFE7 .

The fact Mr. Dobson’s not on the fringe of conservative Christianity but instead long been a major influence in developing its current set of attributes helps validate how abusive and bigoted conservative Christianity is, especially towards children, women, and gays. We like to point and ridicule people like Mr. Dobson, but let’s also not forget tens of millions of people are abused because of him and worse, those who positively respond to his admonitions.

Gandhi came from nothing and pushed back an Empire. Moore is following his example, doing the same but against his own country.

Wasn’t. Dobson the one who claimed that the best way to prevent boys from catching tha’ Ghey was for their fathers to shower with them so they can see “…Daddy has a penis too?”

In other news… Dog bites man! (thanks for update, though unsurprising.)

The best part of his bizarre opinion on the lesbian mother case is that he wasn’t even involved in said case at all. It wasn’t his ruling, he just up and decided to write an official opinion on it.

Ya just gotta wonder if Dr. Jim has a few skeletons in his own closet or buried in the crawlspace under the front porch. What poisonous fuck.

Will we start seeing thinks like–Roy Moore (T*) AL–on the ballot?

    * Theocrat

Is anyone else terrified at the fact that Supreme Court judges are elected? It’s the height of insanity. Judges are supposed to be independent.

Speaking of theocrats, here comes another dose of the legitimate MOron from Missouri. This time he says that Bible is against government being involved with education.

So that’s what Jerry Sandusky was up to?

It’s also ironic that one of America’s few overt anti-semites, Roy Moore, gets a pass from Mr. Dobson, but not the black Christian; he gets only defamation.

Fortunately the Democratic party in Alabama came to their senses and disqualified Harry Lyon, a total psychotic, to run against Moore. I honestly had difficulty deciding who was worse between the two. Now Moore’s opposition is Robert S. Vance. I know quite a few lawyers and law students and have heard nothing but praise for Vance but I can’t find polls to see how he might be doing. If Vance is half way sane, and everything I’ve heard indicates at least that, then knowing Alabama he’s falling behind Moore.

Judge Vance Offers Stark Contrast to Roy Moore for Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice

According to political experts and public opinion pollsters, even though Vance only jumped into the race in August with less than four months to go before the Nov. 6 election, it appears he has a viable chance of winning and preventing Moore from further embarrassing the state. The latest survey has him up more than 3 points.

Has the judicial panel that removed that KKKristianist asshole from office been changed? If not what’s to keep them from doing the same thing again as soon as he starts spouting his nonsense under color of authority?

Maybe nothing, but its still better that he not win vs. winning, doing some damage, and then having to be removed and replaced.
