Jim Garlow has created something called the Pastors Rapid Response Team and they held a conference call with John Hagee and Steve Strang, publisher of Charisma magazine. During that call, Strang said Obama is just like Adolf Hitler — with some help from us humanists and those evil gay people, of course.
The man has an agenda and I just wrote a blog and I also put it in the next issue of Charisma magazine where I refer to something I think Pastor Hagee said, he referred to Adolf Hitler, and in the 1930s the Jews and even the Christians did not really believe that Hitler was as bad as he said, even though he outlined it in his book Mein Kampf. But Hitler turned out to be that bad and worse. There are people out there with an agenda and if you don’t believe it Google the Humanist Manifesto, which was written in 1921, and also the Homosexual Manifesto, which was written in 1987, and see what these people want to do and what is happening before our very eyes. What Jim Garlow says is true, the way of life that we have is over if Barack Obama is elected again.
Well yes, we humanists are all Nazis. You can tell by our strong belief in human rights and justice. And everyone knows that before Adolf Hitler killed the Jews, he first made sure that they had access to health insurance. How many parallels do you need?

Well, Garlow puts his finger on it, of course. The eerie similarity comes in with the fact that both Obama and Hitler had an agenda. That’s the problem right there: having an agenda. That’s just dangerous.
We must be very, very careful then that we avoid all politicians who have an agenda. Especially if they tell us what it is. If we don’t, then we only have ourselves to blame.

An AGENDA!? OMG! Are you saying that Obama actually has goals set and an itinerary set forth to ACTUALLY MEET THOSE GOALS. How could anyone ever elect anybody to the highest position in government who had…AN AGENDA! Obama is the only president I’ver ever heard of who had one. In fact he’s the only PERSON I’ve heard of who had one.

Hold on everyone, Obama, factually, has one thing undeniably in common with Hitler, the Pope and virtually every other member of the Nazi party and its military. He is christian.

After each story hits the headlines, they check their paypal accounts. If donations fall, they backpedal slightly, but if donations rise, they push the envelope at the next meeting.

OK I did and it isn’t looking good for Garlow’s argument, the first Humanist Manifesto was published in 1933 not 21. The Homosexual Manifesto does seem to have been published in 1987 but is for the most part pretty obvious satire, with the occasional nod to genuine problems.
Also I’m not aware Obama has endorsed or even mentioned either document.

You know, usually these numbskulls have to cook up a bunch of bullshit to get people to fear the homosexual boogeyman (and get the donation machine cranking). The fact that some of them apparently believe a parody shows just how deranged they can be.

OK, I just read that Homosexual Manifesto – and as a piece of satire it was commendable. So since I’m a white, male, heterosexual I have to agree with every fuckin’ white/male/heterosexual “manifesto” out there? No I fuckin’ don’t.

Yes, he “has an agenda,” and it will inevitably come to pass should he be re-elected… which of course is perfectly consistent with that other wingnut meme that Obama can’t accomplish anything because he “isn’t smart enough” or “doesn’t know what he’s doing” or “lacks the necessary managerial skills” or whatever other bit of thinly veiled racist condescension they choose to spit out at any given moment.

matty1, I was alluding to the quote in the OP:
If Obama actual was as incompetent as they insist, why would they care even if he actually did have an agenda to “end their way of life”? He wouldn’t be capable of realizing it.
sunsangnim notes another such inconsistency in the sputtering neural firings otherwise known as “wingnut thought”.

Q.E.D. writes:
I’m not an ardent student of Naziism, but I have read some on it, and currently am reading a book now on the topic. One does find that a Christian militaristic form of right-wing authoritarianism was a primary aspect of Germany going back to at least the mid- to late-19th century. Anti-semitism as it was promoted by both German Catholics and Protestants led to some fertile ground for the Nazis to harvest. The context for what led to the rise of Naziism was certainly a type of Christian culture which early-20th century historians such as William Dodds comparing the Germany of the late-19th/early-20 century to America’s post-Civil War reconstruction South.
But neither Adolph Hitler nor many Nazi leaders were Christians comparable to Barack Obama. There’s enormous difference between a cultural Christian like many of the Nazis and one that is a believing Christian. Once in power Mr. Hitler also exploited Christianity for his own ends, he didn’t seem at all concerned about actually practicing Christianity.
Certainly this German Christian culture helped form the Nazis, enabled their rise to power, and was impotent in stopping him, especially given their being RWAs just like today’s American conservative Christians where these German RWAs and American conservatives at the time were also deep in denial. Denialism being a feature of RWAs and conservatives in general. So deep from the German aspect the RWA Germans who emigrated after the war are prone to falsely claim they were never supporters of Naziism. That’s in spite of the Nazi’s getting about 93% of the vote by late-1933, which was after their persecution of Jews began; though by that time they were running unopposed so a vote against wasn’t a vote for anyone. Albert Einstein was an example of a liberal non-Christian, non-religious Jew; he knew by 1932 what was going on and never went back after taking a trip to the U.S. in early 1933.

I’m not an ardent student of Naziism, but I have read some on it
Best thing i have ever read on that period is the 3 volume set by Richard Evans:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Third_Reich_Trilogy
it’s informative of not just the rise of nazism, but of how all the various political ideologies fell out during the last half of the 1800s, and 1st half of the 1900s.
It’s so well written it’s actually hard to put down; especially the first volume.
