With the Romney campaign resembling a circus and Obama’s reelection prospects surging, some poll analysts and pundits are saying that something that was unthinkable a few months ago — the Democrats retaking control of the House — is now within the realm of possibility. Even Bill Kristol is saying so now:
In other words, IF the polls are right, and IF nothing much changes over the remaining six weeks, the House could well be in play. Maybe things will move in a Republican direction. Or maybe Republicans will hold on in an even popular vote election with the help of incumbency advantages and post-2010 redistricting. But it’s also possible that an Obama +3 victory on Election Day would drag the Democrats to an edge in the congressional voteāand control of the House. In any case, based on current polling, I don’t think one can say that it’s now out of the question that we could wake up on the morning of November 7 to the prospect of … Speaker Nancy Pelosi.
Unfortunately for the Democrats, Kristol has an almost perfect record of being wrong on every prediction he makes.

My favorite from “William the Bloody” was the one where he would be surprised if, within a year of the Iraq invasion, the Iraqis hadn’t built a statue honoring Gee Dubya for liberating them.

That’s pretty much what I was thinking when I read the headline…
“Shit, Kristol is always wrong, there goes any chance of the Republicans losing the house…”

Yes, but if Dick Morris* guarantees a Republican House landslide it would cancel out Kristol’s mojo.
* He who guaranteed a Hillary v. Condi presidential contest in 2008.

Azkyroth @#6,
Even in the best case scenario, Rebuplicans will have enough Senate seats to control the filibuster. So, sadly, there’s a very good chance we won’t actually get something done.

Let’s just hope that the blind pig/stopped clock metaphors apply in this case.
