How does a political party that consistently pursues policies that anger women and violate their rights, that thinks the government should make the most intimate and difficult decisions for them go about trying to get women to vote for them? By making them think they’re breaking up with Obama. Seriously. This is a real RNC ad:

Ed Brayton,
That’s it? You think they could do better than that.

It would have been more effective if the chair were empty instead of having a cardboard Obama.

It would also be more effective if the person in the video were a GOP staff member.
But then, most folks probably won’t know that.

Fools. The way to sell anything to women is to make it simpler and paint it pink. It also doesn’t hurt to reassure them they can run, swim, and play tennis while using GOP.

Republicans sure enjoy talking to inanimate objects, don’t they?

Are you a slut who thinks that hard working tax payers should pay for birth control for your endless string of hook ups? Are you a filthy liar who will scream rape just to get another abortion? Are you so uppity that you think you should be paid the same as a man just because you are doing he same job? Well The republican party wants you to know that Obama could have done better.
The langue is a bit coarse but fitting for how the right has acted over the last year or so.

It’s a lot easier to get your message across when there’s no chance of a rebuttal. Real People™ use pesky logic to deflect lies and strawmen.
It’s fun to see that the GOP’s sexism extends to their commercials, though. There’s absolutely nothing condescending about this.
Nothing at all.

It’s like the Platonic dialogues: it’s easier to make it come out the right way if you’re writing both sides of the debate.
.
Romeny said yesterday that he will not reduce taxes on the rich, and that he likes some parts of ‘ObamaCare.’ The Etch-a-Sketch is in play. Now that the nomination is officially sewn up, he is calling out “sucker” to all those conservatives he got to go along with him.

But Mrs. Romney claims she “loves women” and on the David Gregory Meet the Press puff-piece her and Mr. Romney claim they empathize. Seriously.

I just realized I may have given the RNC some bad advice here. As the above activities have been known to cause a fertilized egg to fail to implant, the GOP may well consider them murder.

I’m sorry, Barack… I know the Republican party treats me badly, but I know it can change! It’s told me it wants to change. You have no idea how many times it’s promised that, but this time I think it means it.
You want to treat me well, but I am just not ready for that kind of relationship. The Republicans always say they’re sorry when they hurt me. Well, not always, but you can see it in their eyes. And even when you can’t, you know they feel it, deep down. And my kids are Republican – I can’t tear the family apart this way just for my own sake.
The Republican Party loves me – it tells me so, even if it is only on the way to the voting booth. And really, it doesn’t punish me unless I act like a slut or get ideas above my station – and I never do that!

At least this Republican employee is a better actor than the people in the last ad I saw. But seriously? The Teapublican Party wouldn’t appeal to me if it promised to kill all the big bugs, and take out my garbage for the next 4 years.

This really isn’t all that different than any other RNC ad I’ve seen. Same theme of “Obama hasn’t done a good job, so don’t vote for him.” If anything, it at least shows an awareness by the RNC that they have nothing positive to run on themselves. Best I can guess is they are really targeting the more ignorant of the undecided voters.

That’s apparently how deep their understanding of women is.
“Women? They’re those things that have relationships with men, right? That’s what they do right? Relationships?”
“Brilliant!”

No, no, no. I don’t know about the taxes bit, but right after the Obamacare bit his rep came out and undid the “pre-existing condition” that Romney commented on.
But only the initial comment gets “liberal media” coverage, so the not-wingnuts he has to reach hear the bit they’re suppoesed to hear, and the Base hears the latter one through their media (and sighs at the guy they’re going to vote for anyway, simply to get The Kenyan Usurper out of the White House).
So, it’s a brilliant strategy played with typical Romneyesque bumbling. It’s a floor wax and a dessert topping.

Certainly the ad is shallow and in poor taste.
But I think the reason that Bettina Inclan was chosen for it, in addition to the fact that she’s an RNC staffer, is that she somewhat resembles Amber Lee Ettinger — the erstwhile “Obama Girl.” And Inclan’s makeup for the ad accentuates the resemblance.
Consider the images at these articles:
http://tucsoncitizen.com/hispanic-politico/2012/09/07/gop-hispanic-outreach-director-bettina-inclan-busted-for-posing-as-disgruntled-obama-supporter/
http://www.people.com/people/article/0,,20253953,00.html
I conclude from this that someone at the RNC has bought into the idea, fairly widespread in 2008, that women in general had a crush on Obama. And from there we quickly descend into dog-whistle territory.
