Help a Victim of the Aurora Shootings

The young woman who was shot in the Aurora movie theater attack and thanked the paramedics instead of God could use some help with her medical bills. You can donate here.

    Done. I don’t have much to spare, but what I can, I’ll throw her way to help make up for the obscene unfairness of having the system of your country saddle you with crippling medical bills because someone decided to commit a massacre and you had the bad luck to be there at the wrong time.

    Let’s get more people on this & see if the community can cover the lion’s share of the bill.

    I thought that the hospital was paying for the bills, what happened to that?

    @2 Doug Little:

    As I recall, victims were treated at multiple hospitals (five in total, I believe). Of these hospitals, only some of them (three I believe) offered to waive the medical bills of victims of the shooting. If I’m remembering all that correctly, then presumably this particular victim was treated at a hospital which isn’t making this offer.

    I am sorry to say that I can’t afford to pay my own bills nevermind anyone else’s.

    Otoh, I am a devious fucker and I would simply suggest shaming the hospital in question into doing the right thing–since they’re obviously too fucking stupid to see the PR upside of, “doing the right thing”. I think a letter to the editor of the RMNews would get the ball rolling.

    Of course the other question in my mind is, “If the KKKristian GOD is such a loving diety, whyn’t he pick up the tab?”.

    democommie @ # 4: I think a letter to the editor of the RMNews would get the ball rolling.

    It wouldn’t roll very far: the Rocky Mountain News ceased publication three and a half years ago.

    Mr. Pierce Butler:

    Point taken. The Denver Post, then?
