Wow. Just when you thought Vox Day couldn’t get any more inane, with his frequent pronouncements that women should not be allowed to vote and recent claim that Obama was behind the Aurora shootings, he writes a column like this and just leaves your jaw agape. Get a load of this:
Obama is bad. Not in the reverse meaning of the term, by which one indicates that an individual is actually cool or intimidating or otherwise superlative in some manner, but in the simple and straightforward negative sense. He is a bad president. He is a bad black man. He is a bad socialist. He is a bad peacemaker. He is a bad American. And most of all, he is bad for America and the world…
Obama is also a bad black man. While I am not qualified to pronounce judgment on these matters, here we can rely upon the considered opinion of Chris Rock. The black comedian recently declared that “we ignore the president’s whiteness, but it’s there, it’s there.” And let’s face it, despite Obama’s well-known love for basketball, the man dances with all the urban smoothness of the average white girl attending one of the Seven Sisters.
The mind boggles.

Wow. A truly astonishing column by dear ol’ Vox Day. And when I say “astonishing,” I mean “bad.” As in “awful.” Ed is merely scratching the surface by bringing up the “bad black man” stuff.
Vox also aligns himself with the birfers, pooh-pooh’s the idea that GWB was in any way responsible for the bad economy, lies his ass off about Obama’s attempts to reduce the deficit, etc. He’s also blaming Obama for the current bellicosity over Syria and Iran, as if Obama were the sort of war monger that Bush was.
Words fail me. Really, go read it. It’s not very long, and you’ll be amazed at how much idiocy can be crammed into such a small space.

@StevoR: The “Seven Sisters” are, or rather were, seven traditionally all-female colleges in the Northeastern USA. Kind of the female equivalent of the Ivy League.

“The Seven Sisters” here probably refers to a group of elite private women’s colleges in the northeast. Barnard, Bryn Mawr, Mount Holyoke, Radcliffe, Smith, Vassar and Wellsley.
In a way they’re twinned pairs to the ivy league, from the days when most of the Ivy League schools only admitted men. Although the pairing is not quite exact. Mount Holyboke was associated with Dartmouth, Vassar with Yale, Wellsley and Radcliffe with Harvard, Brynn Mawr with Haverford College and UPenn, and Barnard with Columbia.

You forgot Smith, which was also associated with Dartmouth, though I think it might have been associated with Amherst College as well (Amherst is not Ivy, but has the advantage of proximity to Smith). The old saying was “Smith to bed, Holyoke to wed.” This may have reflected more wishful thinking than anything else.

My facepalming comes from the reference to Chris Rock. I haven’t listened to whatever sketch Vox Day is talking about, but I would think it’s stereotype comedy, playing on some tropes I’m aware of.
1. Premise: There is a set of characteristics a person can have that make him or her considered stylish by a certain portion of the black community. These include things like proficiency in certain styles of dance, song, or at basketball. These characteristics are commonly thought to be rarer in white people, therefore calling someone “white” denotes the absence of these “black” characteristics.
2. Inference: Possessing many of these “black” characteristics would thus make a person easier to relate to and comfortable to be with in a dominantly black social setting. To draw attention to these characteristics is roughly equivalent to the goal of many populist presidential candidates to be “somebody you’d like to have a beer with.”
3. Hypothesis 1: Vox Day has stupidly fallen for the idea that a presidential candidate should put great effort into appearing to be much like the average man, and that he should be judged primarily by this measure, instead of how effective he would be as the President of the United States. Thus, his efforts to depict Obama as being socially different from the average black person is an attempt to distract black voters from the real issues at stake.
4. Hypothesis 2: Vox Day believes that racial stereotypes are goals people should strive for, thus Obama is a failure as a black man because he does not closely match a given stereotype for black men. This is, of course, racist.

I’ve heard Chris Rock talk about Obama. Vox Day doesn’t even understand what “the black comedian” is saying. And if he’s too stupid to even get a comedian’s jokes (this is Chris Rock we’re talking about, not someone really complicated like Les Barker!), then nothing else he says is even worth spitting on.

As a graduate of Smith College…I would just like to say I’ve had many compliments on my dancing over the years. And I’m short and fat so they weren’t of the ‘hey baby, I like your moves’ kind of compliments.
Vox Day is one of those weather-vanes of stupidity. Wherever he’s pointing I’m sure to be headed the exact opposite way.
