Okay, this is simply hilarious. Some enterprising James O’Keefe wannabe found a picture of Connie Schultz, a Pulitzer Prize-winning political columnist, hugging Sen. Sherrod Brown and probably thought he finally had proof of the “elite media” being in bed with liberal politicians. So he emailed Schultz seeking comment:
Dear Ms. Shultz,
We are doing an expose on journalists in the elite media who socialize with elected officials they are assigned to cover. We have found numerous photos of you with Sen. Sherrod Brown. In one of them, you appear to be hugging him.
Care to comment?
Schultz’ response is perfectly understated:
Dear Mr. [Name Deleted]:
I am surprised you did not find a photo of me kissing U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown so hard he passes out from lack of oxygen. He’s really cute.
He’s also my husband.
You know that, right?
Connie Schultz
This guy has a bright future at Breitbart.com.

Gives a new new twist to “being in bed with.”

Prediction: some conservative pundit will pick up this guy’s story idea and run with it, absent of any mention of the two individuals being married. Maybe said pundit will apologize a month from airing it, in footnote or the credit roll of their show, but maybe not.

He’s got a dull future at breitbart.com. There’s nothing bright about breitbart (outside of the phonetic resemblance, of course).

Will somebody please drop Mr. Deleted a hot tip about then-Federal Reserve chair Alan Greenspan shacking up for years with “news” person Andrea Mitchell before Baby Jesus finally shamed them into performing the mystical/legal ritual that made it tolerable to decent Amurkyns?

Doesn’t this “prove” his point, though? Not only is the Media bias in favor of liberal politicians, it is actually married to them!

Mr. Andrea Mitchell would object.
To be honest there IS a problem with media/political/business elite entanglements. But it is less a conservative/liberal one and more an elite/everyone else one – it’s classism not ideology. But of course we can’t discuss classism in this country because to even mention the topic is Class Warfare.

I’m much nastier than she is. I would have replied, “no comment”, then waited for the twerpblogger to post his/her article before busting it.

Alan Greenspan, one time acolyte of Ayn Rand, a liberal politician?

IIRC he’s a reformed acolyte of libertarianism, at least somewhat reformed given his concession that he was wrong to assume the Street was capable of self-regulation. Self-regulation in terms of sufficiently reserving liquid assets to hedge against devaluations of riskier illiquid assets such as securitized bundled home loans. He’s a classic illustration of someone who was able to fool moderates, including this one.
Since the rise of the Internet, fooling the relatively well-informed is now far harder to do now given blogs like Andrew Sullivan’s, watchdogs like Media Matters, and even some mainstream media outlets leveraging the work of bloggers and watchdogs. “Classic” because I doubt hardly any moderates knew Mr. Greenspan was so anti-regulation. I only remember the reports after the crash, where Frontline’s report stands out on his, Rubin, and Summer’s successful opposition to regulating the investment banks during the Clinton Administration.

It’s an extra marital affair occurring between two people who are married to each other, do you see what liberals are doing to marriage?

No. No. No. Who cares about embarrassing some no-name twerpblogger? Wait until Fox News picks it up.
And say something a bit stronger than “no comment.” How about “It is none of your business how often I hug Sen. Brown. What gives you the right to ask about a private matter?”

Schultz is a columnist, not a reporter, for pete’s sake. She’s ALLOWED to be biased. Jeez.

I would have just pointed out that they were both consenting adults and his wife knew all about it.
And then wait until Fox News, Limbaugh, Hannity, and O’Reilly pick up on it.

Not quite as good as Frances McDormand on how she got her part in Fargo: “The fact that I’m sleeping with the director may have something to do with it.”

@valhar2000 Exactly. Didn’t she get the memo that when you become a journalist, you sign away your right to normal human relationships?

That’s just another reason I love that woman. And even with her snarky sense of humor, she still withholds the guys name in the hopes that he’ll learn something from it. I wouldn’t have been so nice.
