Oh, darn. I seem to have missed the July 4th Defeat Obama Telethon, a five-hour event live from Las Vegas that featured a Who’s Who of the wingnut class. And they modeled it after the Jerry Lewis telethon, only this one would benefit Mitt’s Kids.
HISTORIC 4TH OF JULY TELETHON TO DEFEAT BARACK OBAMA
On Wednesday, July 4th, conservatives will celebrate American freedom and liberty by working to liberate the nation from Barack Obama’s presidency.
A special 5-hour “Defeat Barack Obama Telethon” will broadcast live from Las Vegas, NV and be seen all around the nation and the world via live video and audio streams. The 4th of July “Defeat Barack Obama Telethon” will be based on a similar model to Jerry Lewis’s historic Labor Day Telethons to fight Muscular Dystrophy.
Yeah. Except 7/11 isn’t going to show up with a million dollar check this time. And we won’t have to listen to Tony Orlando, with or without Dawn. But there are almost-stars a-plenty, including Hermain Cain, Joe Arpaio, Victoria Jackson, Dick Morris, Janine Turner and Joe the Plumber. Oh, and Jackie Mason because, hey, it’s stage time, right? And Pam Geller too.
I had a choice between watching that and being tied to an anthill naked, covered in honey; I chose the latter, less painful option.

Dr X, freedom ain’t free. Sometimes, you have to sacrifice the freedom of other people to protect it.

Guys, “Freedom” to an Authoritarian Follower means “Freedom to be led around by the dick and told who to hate and why and who to vote for (but not why) and which church to give money to.”
Freedom and Liberty mean being high enough in the pecking order to deny freedom and liberty to somebody else.

Oo, I hope they don’t forget Ted Nugent! Watch Ted Nugent sing and talk and try to keep his hands off Victoria Jackson!
What a pair.

I would find it pathetic and sad if it weren’t for the growing disparity in money between the two campaigns and their supporters.

Alas, what a pity that Sarah Palin wasn’t available to lend some intellectual gravitas to the occasion.

“Five hours”? Heck, no. The crazies fell short of their $250,000 goal on July 4 and added days to the telethon. As of yesterday, July 7, they were still sending out announcements crying about how “We have only 48 hours left to meet our $250,000 goal”! The wackaloon telethon is being rebroadcast and streamed multiple times in hopes of squeezing more anti-Obama money out of soft-brained right-wingers. They are both failure and liars.

They fell short of their target? Hard to believe, since they even had a separate channel broadcasting it to Pahrump.

Freedom isn’t free. Which is who the GOP advises everyone to get lots of money. By any means necessary. Money = Freedom is both an article of faith and the desired ideal.

7/11 7-11 7-Eleven is a convenience store chain which donated heavily to the Jerry Lewis Telethon and had the change donation displays at the checkout counter almost perpetually.

Even given their normally low standards, I’m surprised they had the nerve to compare their hate-a-thon to raising money for kids with MD, as if they’re equally deserving of sympathy and in need of aid. They’ve taken their “help, help, I’m being repressed!” charade a little too far.

Pierce R Butler:
She and Michelle Bachmann are studying up on foreign policy and civil rights so they can run in 2016 (hint to them, gay people are real, you can’t wish them away, and its called ‘equal rights’ not ‘special rights’) They only have 5 brain cells between the two of them and couldn’t lend even one for outside intellectual pursuits.

Throw in Orly Taitz and Donald Trump and you got yourself a heck of a start on the Douchebag Hall of Fame right there.
