John Derbyshire continues his bizarre rantings at VDARE, his new home after the National Review decided he was even too racist for them. But now he has another problem: He has to explain to the thoroughly racist audience at VDARE why he has — gasp! — an Asian wife! Much hilarity ensues.
He says that he fully agrees that we must adopt policies to “preserve the historic white-European ethnic core of the American nation,” but that he’s not a “racial purist” and is “fine with miscegenation.” But not too much, you see. Only a few white people get to marry people of another race because, if too many do, then bad things happen.
It depends on your estimate of how wide, and how unsatisfied, is the desire of white Americans to marry people of other races.
That’s a tough thing to estimate. This February’s report from the Pew Center, “The Rise of Intermarriage,” tells us that: “Among all newlyweds in 2010, 9 percent of whites, 17 percent of blacks, 26 percent of Hispanics and 28 percent of Asians married out” (that is, out of their own race/ethnic category)…
In the end, it’s a question of numbers. If, in some given decade, a thousand, or ten thousand, Chinese or Mexicans settle in the U.S.A., no-one should mind or care. If they were all to marry U.S. citizens, it’s still no-one’s business. It’s not the thousand or the ten thousand that effects demographic revolution: it’s the million and ten million. As the late great Enoch Powell used to say: “Numbers are of the essence.”
To put it slightly differently, it’s how you salt your stew. A little salt actually improves the taste; but if the chef were to dump a whole box of salt in there, you’d have a reasonable complaint against the chef.
So you see, it’s all okay. That’s why he gets to marry outside his race without destroying the “white European ethnic core of America,” but if enough other people do the same thing, something would obviously have to be done about it.

I imagine ONE or TWO black socks in the “whites-only” wash won’t do much harm either. But you give them equality and it won’t be the socks getting darker that you see, no-sir-ree.

The problem is easily solved. Whenever white people marry one of the sub-humans, they should be sterilized. Perhaps their foreheads can be branded with a symbol indicating the race that they are mixing with, and their rights are real Americans can be reduced to that of their sub-human spouse.
Or something like that.

My friend’s grandfather once joined a white power group although they were never too serious.
In their rural area, there were no nonwhites. Except a lot of American Indians who were still ticked off about losing their continent and you didn’t want to mess with them.
So they started harassing the Catholics, they being Protestants.
Then he met a Catholic girl. And married her. End of group.

Good god, the amount of rationalization and cognitive dissonance on display in Derbyshire’s ramblings is breathtaking.
Apparently it’s OK for some whites to intermarry so long as it doesn’t dilute the “whiteness” of society too much.
He doesn’t even attempt to speak in terms of cultural parameters choosing instead to focus solely on race.
Disgusting.

Meanwhile it’s fairly accepted that we are ‘salted’ with Neanderthal genes. Interesting fact: everybody on Earth has Neanderthal genes except those who never left Africa. So it may be that Neanderthals gave pale skin in addition to red hair and freckles. Now it may be that they had initiated cave painting! (All of this is available in National Geographic, by the way.)
One thing for sure: we are a combination of Neanderthal and Cro-Magnon. I believe that evolution was accelerated by their merging, and that humanity can only benefit when romantic interests are colorblind and people pair up without regard to race or prejudice. Ratios be damned.
But without prejudice, fear, and hate, wingnuts have nothing to go on. Damn them too.

In the early 70′s I went with my then-wife to visit her aunts and uncles in Maine. It was an all-white town, Normal Rockwellville USA.
I asked for their perspective on racial unrest in the big cities and they said it was utterly appalling.
As their kids were going out, the mother hollered: “Stay away from those Protestants at the other side of the playground!”

I love how he elides that the “American citizens” those Mexican or Chinese immigrants might be marrying wouldn’t also perforce be non-white themselves. Last I checked, “American citizens” come in all sorts of interesting colours.
Now I’m wondering if his wife is an American citizen, and if so, how does she feel about her own husband thinking of her as a second-class or non-citizen anyway.

I thought for sure he would have gone with the “Asian people are almost as good as white people, so it’s not as bad” angle.
Neither my parents or my in-laws had any trouble with my wife and I marrying accross racial boundaries. At the same time, it’s pretty clear that had I been some “lesser” race other than white, my wife’s family may have disapproved. So basically, some types of matches are OK. Progress!

I read the article and thought; what if some of the semi-literate members of VDARE started to use the phrase: “Salt my stew” as a short hand way of saying a little miscegenation, e.g., their marrying outside however they define their ‘race’ is good, but only a little.
I then remembered how language gets mangled by its users and realized the phrase would migrate into “Salt my stool.”
Think of it, a bunch of inbred morons saying: “Whal’ salt my stool,” not knowing where the phrase came from or what it means just that it must be good because their group says it so much.
Sometimes I am one sick human being.
