Freethought Blogs is joining with other bloggers in helping raise funds for the Secular Student Alliance, which helps students in high school and college build groups to advocate for secular principles and equality. As you probably know, JT Eberhard works for SSA and Jen McCreight is on their board, and we all love the work the organization does. The goal is to raise $100,000 for SSA.
They’re calling this SSA Week, though it lasts 10 days, and during that time many of the bloggers here, including me, will be participating in daily blogathons, where we post something every half hour or every hour and you send in money. And since JT works for the group, we’re going to refer to ourselves as JT’s kids. The great news is that there is a huge matching offer on the table, so every dollar you give is doubled. And the awesome Todd Steifel has already stepped up and donated $50,000. So if we can raise $100,000 in addition to that, we can give a huge boost to a group that’s doing a great deal of good.
I’m not sure what day I’ll be doing the blogathon. And yes, I know that posting every hour would be a slowdown for me, so it’s hardly a big sacrifice. But I’m also going to be taking requests — donate $50 and I’ll write about whatever subject you want me to write about. You can donate money by clicking here. So Ed I have just one question sir. How does it feel to know that you’ve been exposed twice now on the Neo Conservative channel on YouTube? Your blogs are bogus and your radio program is clearly a laughing matter, your radio program is a joke.

Geez, have you not been paying attention! Everyone knows atheists have lots of emotions. Rage against God (which is why they deny the obvious fact of his existence), hatred of all religious people, and probably a couple of others I’m forgetting at the moment. Or was that hatred of God? Rats, now I’m getting confused.
