WND Still Pushing Weird Breitbart Conspiracy

You almost have to admire the tenacity of the Worldnutdaily. When they get their fevered brains all jacked up on some serious stupid, they’re like a pitbull with a chewtoy — they just aren’t going to let it go. Now they’ve got a whole new conspiracy surrounding the entirely natural death of Andrew Breitbart:

A private investigator has been unable to find the only eyewitness to the sudden death of media innovator and conservative activist Andrew Breitbart.

The apparent disappearance of Christopher Lasseter, who says he saw Breitbart drop to the sidewalk in front of a restaurant, adds to the mystery surrounding Breitbart’s March 1 death.

On the day the Los Angeles County coroner released Breitbart’s autopsy report, a photographic technician at the coroner’s office died suddenly of suspicious causes.

Cue the spooky music.

After recruiting the assistance of private investigators, WND found that Lasseter, the 26-year-old witness who saw Breitbart drop dead, is no longer residing at his last known address in California.

At the request of WND, Ohio-based private investigator Susan Daniels recruited a California-based private investigator to find Lasseter. The local investigator tried without success to find a cell phone or landline phone number for Lasseter.

After determining that Lasseter lived with his parents, Thornton, age 64, and Elaine, age 56, at a Los Angeles address, the investigator visited the residence in-person to see if he could make contact.

During the visit, the investigator reported, no one picked up the phone when he dialed the Lasseter apartment number outside the building. But he was greeted by a voice recording that identified different people at the apartment by first name, with none of the names on the recording being Christopher, Thornton or Elaine.

The investigator concluded Christopher Lasseter had “hunkered down” in what seemed to be an attempt to avoid further questioning.

He was unsure Lasseter was still residing at the address and considered it possible that Lasseter had moved.

Wow, how … mundane. This is the basis for their latest breathless freakout. I fully expect in a few days to read that Breitbart’s cousin’s former college roommate “mysteriously” slipped and fell and sprained his ankle — boogity boogity.

Nobody ever changes addresses or phone numbers unless they’re part of (or the victim of) a massive conspiracy

No I don’t. Tenacity is not a virtue of itself, it is a multiplier. If it is used to multiply evil, then it most certainly is not a virtue.

I recall a local issue of some very questionable environmental protests. When it came up in discussions, some of my friends would say, as the only defence they could come up with, “At least it is getting the youth excited.” I cannot agree with that view. The cause itself had no merit, and thus the excitement of the cause’s proponents had no merit.

What WMD meant to publish: “He was unsure Lasseter was still residing at the address and considered it possible that Obama had moved Lasseter to Guanatamo Bay.”

I am not surprised the Lasseters are hiding. Think of how many wingnuts are bothering them in order to “uncover the real truth.”

  6. timgueguen:

That would be my guess as well. Assuming of course that the supposed private investigator didn’t simply go to the wrong address.

    Here’s what’s bitterly ironic.

Although I haven’t seen the autopsy report, I know that the post-mortem tox screen was negative, and that publicly released information did not suggest that any major sequelae of any kind of substance abuse.

Heart disease at a fairly young age is simply not as rare as one would wish it were (for full disclosure, I am glad that Breitbart’s activities have ceased, but take no pleasure in the way that happened).

The publicly released information was very non-specific and vague. Breitbart could have been a smoker who ignored risk factors, or he could have been trying to lead a healthy life and been unlucky.

It is clear, though, assuming, as I do, that the tox screen information is accurate, that he did not die either because of, or under the influence of, cocaine, methamphetamine, opiates, or any other kind of psychoactive or medical substance that the LA County Medical Examiner tests for in cases of unexplained death.

No doubt the damn wingnuts would have preferred a finding of high acute levels of cocaine and heart damage strongly suggestive of abuse of cocaine or related drugs http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22455504 (example article, the same findings have been noted many times, although this is a nice complete survey). Then they could have claimed that Obama injected him with cocaine or some such thing.

Especially for someone who had lived a life filled with hatred and deceit and made a habit out of screaming at people in parking lots. That’s got to put stress on the ticker.

The other side of the coin is, even if his tox screen for the night he died was negative, past alcohol and drug abuse could still have been contributing factors in his developing heart disease.

I’m sure, however, that the folks at WorldNutDaily are combing through books on poisons to find something that isn’t detected on a standard tox screen but can mimic the effects of a heart attack. That will be the next “proof” that Obama had him killed.

Wow, what a crack private investigator.

“Well, I tried ringing their doorbell, but it was someone else. Maybe the guy moved? I can’t say for sure. Where is he now? How should I know? His phone number’s not even listed! I searched his Facebook page, but I can’t get any detailed information because he won’t accept my friend request. And I’ve googled the guy, like thirty times. I’ve tried every email address that combines his first and last names that I can think of, but they all bounce back. This guy is good! I’m sorry, but finding people is just not part of what we PIs do.”

I wonder what Douglas Adams did to piss off the Bilderbergers that he had to be offed by the same means, and he exercised regularly at the gym, so that’s even more suspicious, though I guess the coroner survived in that case…

They were talking about the Breitbart case on our local loony radio station just yesterday. Apparently “sources close to the case” say that his killing worked — and that Breitbart’s organization has much more incriminating material on Obama than video of him hugging a professor, but has buried it in the wake of their founder’s death. It’s amazing what “sources” will say these days.

My biological dad died at age 26 of a heart attack, walking down the street one evening. Granted, my mom described him as a heavy drinker and smoker, and he had recently come home from Vietnam. Still, though, age 26? It happens.

Of course, I have to wonder about my mother’s… erm… prowess? First my biological dad dies pretty much the same month I was conceived (she didn’t know she was pregnant until after the funeral), and later my stepfather had his first heart attack before age 40, requiring a 5-bypass surgery. Hmmmmmm.

Oh shit, I’m moving on monday and I don’t know what side I’m on! I think I’m the victim of a conspiracy to keep me from knowing that I’m IN a conspiracy to to stop me finding out I’m in a conspiracy at all!

    DAMN YOU OBAMA!!!!

“Meanwhile today, an eyewitness who saw Breitbart drop dead outside the Brentwood Restaurant and whose whereabouts were unaccounted for this week has now been found.

Los Angeles private investigator Paul Huebl has located Christopher Lasseter.”

    ===============
The red skin color WND is touting as “inexplicable” is not uncommon in the early minutes of a sudden collapse from heart problems. If the patient survives long enough, they may turn the ashen color WND thinks is required.

But the description Lessiter gave … dropped like a sack of potatoes and his face was reddish colored, sounds like the two I have witnessed. One survived long enough for the EMTs to arrive, the other didn’t.

  16. KG:

The description “dropped like a sack of potatoes” sounds like SCD (sudden cardiac death or “Bing Crosby syndrome”), where the heart goes into an arrhythmia that interrupts blood flow, usually ventricular fibrillation, and often without a myocardial infarction (heart attack). Unconsciousness follows within seconds. According to the accounts of survivors, it’s often completely painless, but survival if the event occurs outside hospital is only about 20% even with prompt CPR. There’s usually some structural abnormality in the heart, innate or acquired.

  17. KG:

I don’t know why the face would be unusually red, but it wouldn’t be white or ashen; that would mean the blood has been withdrawn from the skin to protect the supply to the heart and brain, and SCD doesn’t allow time for that to happen.

  18. KG:

Actually of course, you can’t survive SCD! I should have said SCA – sudden cardiac arrest, which usually leads to SCD.

  19. wheatdogg:

    media innovator??

    That’s a bit of a stretch.
