At the Awakenings conference last weekend, Kalam Saleem spewed some serious crazy. See if you can make any sense at all out of this weird diatribe connecting Roe v Wade and Sharia law.

Huh? No, no sense at all. And I could almost see the audience nodding their heads in agreement.

The discourse is purely phatic; any semantic component correspondent to empirical reality is entirely happenstance.
Though Modusoperandi was more succinct @1.

I don’t see why these guys are so anti-sharia. Given their general male-supremacist religious outlook, I can see sharia’d be right up their alley. I guess they’re not thinking far enough ahead or they’d be allying against secularism, rather than continuing to fight the crusades wherever they go..

Hmmm – he said raw vs. wait. I’ll go with wait, I prefer things cooked.

It’s not so much that these nuts find sharia’s rules so bad, it’s that it’s done in the name of the “wrong” god.

But Sharia law prohibits abortion except in cases where the mother’s life is in danger.

Then once you start considering the mother’s safety, you’re ALREADY halfway to Sharia.

Does every kind of Sharia really do that? I’ve read something about 80 days. But in every case there are Christians that agree.
Therefore it’s always Sharia law!

I also heard “raw vs. wait.”
But yeah, abortion is so Islamic.

You lied, Ed! You said he connected Roe v. Wade with Sharia law. Well, all I heard was, “Okay, so we’ve got Roe versus Wade. Roe v. Wade. Now, when they bring in Sharia law…” THERE WAS NO CONNECTION!!! That’s like me saying, “I’ve got this coupon for $1 off a box of Frosted Flakes, so deliver my Ferrari around to the back door.” No connection!!
Oww… I’m convinced the only way conservative legislation is passed in this country is by people like this guy saying such outlandish things, that we’re all left sputtering, trying to get mental traction enough to know where to begin to argue against the idiocy… and they pass their laws, or proclaim the debate won in their favor, while we’re still stuck like that.
