Steve Deace said this at the Worldnutdaily and it’s one of the funniest things I’ve read all week:
At best the Republican Party establishment views evangelicals as what kids today would refer to as a hook-up or a booty call. At worst they outright hate us, because Christians are the reason GOP cronyists don’t get away with pillaging and plundering the public trough for their buddies with the same reckless abandon as the Democrats.
Translation: The Republican party is whack, yo. But I think he’s right. And he and the other evangelicals should all vote for someone other than Mitt Romney.

Funny how the amount of pillaging and plundering a cronyist does is almost always directly proportional to how loudly they proclaim their fealty to Christianity.

While, interestingly enough, the amount of money they receive for performing helpful government contracting work (say, selling pencils at $100 each) increases dramatically!

Wait. You mean they haven’t been getting away with it? What the hell’s been going on, then?

That is possibly the most staggering lack of self-awareness I think I’ve ever seen.

Meanwhile, Christians themselves pillage and plunder at the public trough – only they call it “faith-based” programs. And they get just as much no matter which party is in power!

And they just keep on projecting their own behavior onto their ideological enemies. It’s getting really stale by now.
